Director of Marketing and Community
Who We’re Looking For
A Director of Marketing and Community who will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the overall marketing strategy, including tactical implementation. With a focus on demand generation and brand enhancement, we are searching for a leader who can drive our growth and who can tell an inspiring Victory Lap story.
This is a hands-on management role that will execute brand strategy, positioning, event execution, multi-channel campaigns, lead generation, and content strategy. This person will be data-driven with a focus on delivering highly measurable marketing impact, but will also need to have good mentorship capabilities, strong business acumen, a strategic flair for developing campaigns, the ability to craft a story, and a keen focus on measurable outcomes that drive results. We need a passionate leader who is ready to work closely with our CEO, GM, product, recruiting, and sales teams, and deliver leads who convert to real opportunities.
List of Responsibilities
Own development and content creation for website, client-facing newsletters, emails, blogs, webinars, research reports, sponsored content, infographics, case studies, social media posts, videos, and more
Develop a marketing strategy to effectively position and promote the company’s solutions
Ability to conceptualize, execute, and measure initiatives from start to finish for each channel
Execute tactical marketing activities that support the overall strategy, like writing, editing, building frameworks for new strategies
Create, measure and track marketing reports for greater visibility into user behavior
Develop and execute our PR and thought leadership strategy in both existing and new markets
Plan and execute community building strategies to create stickiness to Victory Lap’s candidate, alumni, and employer solutions
Spearhead key events to engage customers throughout the calendar year
Create and manage referral program driving increase in candidate and alumni referrals
Spearheading brand message development and all media and stakeholder communications materials
Develop and shape community initiatives designed to create connections between employers, alumni, and candidates.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills – networking, relationship-building, cross-functional team leadership
Strong writing and editing experience, including presentations and press materials, as well as messaging, speeches and events.
Adept understanding and usage of social media for business and brands, including blogging, and other emerging social media.
Multi-task management, project coordination and execution, logistics and budget tracking against program goals and objectives; a framework for creative that marries against business goals and communications strategies.
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ marketing experience in a high growth company (prior experience launching new businesses/new markets is a plus)
Experience with various facets of marketing including digital, content marketing, conferences, database/CRM and pitchbooks. Digital marketing certification a plus.
Able to effectively manage and deliver on changing priorities.
Ability to think strategically while also able to “roll up your sleeves” and do the hands-on work necessary to meet deadlines.
