As the Director of Marketing you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing, merchandising and creative strategies for both the Groupon and LivingSocial brands. This role is part of a fun, diverse and dynamic North America Marketing Team and is critical to driving the performance and growth of both brands. Specifically, you will be a hands-on leader to marketers, merchandisers and our in-house marketing agency. You will lead the development of major themes, creative, promotions, and customer experience across all Customer touchpoints including - web, mobile, email and push notifications. You will work with marketing teams across digital and offline channels, as well as business teams across our North American categories. This is a high exposure, high impact role that will shape the company’s marketing efforts and drive consistent retail strategy and approach.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • You will own the development and evolution of the marketing and merchandising plan in order to drive value proposition awareness, customer growth, frequency and profit

  • Act as a thought leader and establish methodologies and processes around marketing, merchandising and creative

  • You will work with senior leadership to set and execute department plans against revenue and customer goals and to communicate key insights and recommendations

  • Use analytical insights to inform customer experience, marketing strategy, product strategy, and overall revenue strategy

  • Drive the creation of the merchandising platform including key tools and landing experiences

  • Build amazing teams and a winning culture that encourages innovation, resulting in significantly enhanced business performance

  • Effectively balance efficiency improvements and placing bold bets on growth

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 8 -10+ years of experience in e-commerce and/or online marketing with a strong creative and consumer focus

  • Bachelor’s degree in a marketing or quantitative discipline (e.g. Marketing, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering); Master’s or MBA preferred

  • You have deep expertise in running large-scale online marketing and merchandising

  • A demonstrated track record of development and execution of creative, innovative strategies to meet both the right long term outcomes and short term results

  • You have experience building, leading, and inspiring large teams

  • You’re strong with unstructured problem solving and analysis - you’re able to manipulate complex data and move past simple insights into actionable recommendations

  • You have proven experience in conducting statistical tests for marketing optimization

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to influence a variety of audiences
