Description:
The Director, Marketing Technology is a catalyst for new Marketing Technology capability enablement. The Director will play a crucial role in the modernization and transformation of marketing technologies at Discover by following best practices for building scalable solutions, along with understanding market trends and business needs. This role will provide technical leadership to a team of software and platform engineers who will develop digital & data products for the enterprise such as but not limited to Audience Platforms, Data Collection, Orchestration, Integration, Campaign Management etc. As a leader, the Director will drive strategy, execution and management of marketing technologies to help rapidly scale multi-channel customer experiences. This is an opportunity to define build vs. buy and apply knowledge of business processes to put in place technology solutions improving operational efficiency and seamless customer experiences. This leader will build a network and influence senior, cross functional leaders to align on technology solutions and business processes to drive marketing transformation.
We are looking for a strategic thinker, problem solver and collaborator with a deep understanding of the financial industry. In this role you will also be responsible and accountable for risk by exchanging ideas, opinions and elevating concerns. You will follow all policies & procedures as defined and operate within the Discover's risk appetite and achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing and managing all types of risks.
Responsibilities:
Architect the enterprise-wide marketing technology vision, strategy and roadmap in concert with Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, Infrastructure, Business, Product and other departments.
Identify and drive implementation of marketing technology solutions (build vs. buy) that drive operational efficiencies in alignment with Product vision. Build network with stakeholders, partners to gain organizational buy-in and support the delivery of these solutions.
Partner with Product, Agile and other cross functional teams to implement new solutions and adapt overall process for delivery and execution.
Responsible for overall delivery of the product roadmaps of prioritized user stories, features etc. Manage team through delivery, removing roadblocks, problem solving and tracking progress
Provide strategic direction for the integration of marketing technology products with other technologies and platforms.
Identify new opportunities for innovation (technologies, markets, partners, trends). Develop strategic briefs, presentation and analyses.
Understand existing processes and technologies and manage existing legacy applications and suggest a roadmap and transition plan in conjunction with product vision and roadmap.
Build highly motivated and talented team. Attract and retain top talent to serve as platform and solution engineers within the team. Define resource capacity plan. Coach on leadership development, technology solutions and issue resolutions. Actively and effectively communicate across teams and all key stakeholder groups.
Develop relationships with platform vendors to gain insights into products and influence strategic choices as and when applicable.
Contribute to thought leadership, writing, blogging and speaking around Martech space.
Support Advertising Technology related solutions and other enterprise-wide initiatives.
Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, with strong adherence to our corporate values including risk & compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Management Information Systems, Engineering, information Technology or Supply & Logistics or related field
4+ years of experience in People Management
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of analytics and data components such as Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Customer Data Platforms, Data Management Platforms
Understanding of marketing and advertising technology platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle Response, Adobe Experience Manager, Google Marketing Platforms etc.)
15+ years of experience in Marketing Technology or related field including People Management
