Primary Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing will report directly to KeHE’s Vice President of Marketing and oversee the KeHE’s communications, feedback initiatives and self-funded marketing solutions. As with all leadership positions at KeHE, the successful candidate’s actions are expected to be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision and Values. 

Essential Functions

  • Communications, Social Media & Public Relations:
    • Develop and measure enhanced brand positioning via a high-level, dynamic content strategy.
    • Spearhead the execution of brand deployment across all platforms and with all champions.
    • Lead content team and deliver a plan to grow web traffic and followers by 5,000 followers or 125% per year.
      • Including for KeHE Shows, KeHE’s Annual Golf Outing fundraiser, and all external industry tradeshows.
      • Develop and refine KeHE’s Event App and oversee implementation:
        • Internal and External Communications (including email marketing and website management)
        • Relationship management
        • Show floor experiences.
        • Enhancing the experience of the attendee
        • Creating reports and summary dashboards
    • Social Media Strategy & Monetization
      • Diversify Content from dynamic content strategy.
      • Oversee and analyze execution of paid social media strategy​.
      • Align with strategic priorities to direct team to pitch ideas, write and post ideas for blog​.
      • ​Share content with enterprise to get broader buy-in​.
  • Feedback initiatives:
    • Conduct the biannual surveys deriving applicable analytics for presentation to internal teams.
    • Create and develop the retailer list and supporting elements for the Retailer Advisory Council and bi-annual business review meetings including substantive meeting agendas and presentation decks.
  • Self-funded Solutions:
    • Manage KeHE’s Digital Marketing Platform to ensure retailers have an ease of use and order and suppliers are interested in participating; ultimately creating a platform that can be used to have up to 50 virtual shows per year and have increasing other income revenue opportunities.
      • Exceed top and bottom-line sales budgets.
      • Develop new Digital Marketing Platform Ideas for promotions (ex: truck load, local lovelies, late breaking deals, digitize EBM initiative, Auction-style promotions)
      • Road-mapping the development of the Digital Marketing Platform for the next 3 years.
      • Oversee the Architecture Manager develop the CRM or customer management tool with IT with clean and usable data to implement decision-worthy data by FY22 Q2.
  • Assist Vice President of Marketing with annual and monthly budget and interlock processes.
  • Assist Creative Director with various tasks and tasks assigned by Vice President of Marketing
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field of study.
  • 10+ years of related experience.

Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

  • Microsoft Office expertise required, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in conducting effective meetings and making concise presentations.
  • Strong negotiating, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates effective project management skills with the ability for prioritization to achieve and maintain goals/deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be collaborative in work across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present material in a polished and articulate manner with strong presentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills with people at all organizational levels.
  • A high attention to detail including deadlines and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of data and learn new skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
