The Director of Marketing will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for defining and executing marketing strategies in addition to supporting high-level company goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute marketing strategies to support the company’s business goals for both the B2B and B2C verticals, specifically:
    • B2B: increase our restaurant network from 10,000 to 50,000 merchants by 2025
    • B2C: increase our member base from 17 million to 50 million by 2025
  • Design, execute and analyze strategies and learning agendas to support the high-level company goals. Examples of these strategies include:
    • B2B:
      • Stand up new paid marketing channels (online/offline) to acquire more restaurant leads
      • Identify and build new referral (affiliate) partnerships
      • Develop new lead closure mechanisms, including a 100% online experience
      • Build a new CRM program to increase the engagement and retention rate of existing clients
      • Partner with the CMO to redefine and re-launch the company's brand
    • B2C:
      • Work with our 15+ partners to increase sign-up rates of rewards members to our dining program
      • Incentivize usage, frequency and spend among signed up members
      • Build a stronger program to re-engage inactive members
  • Attract, lead, manage and engage a team of results-driven marketers
  • Work across the marketing team (UX, Content, Channel management) and the broader organization (Product, Technology, Legal, Finance) to secure cross-functional support for our strategies

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, including 3+ years of leading and managing a team
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management or equivalent professional qualification required. MBA preferred.
  • Deep experience and understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem. Experience managing most major channels, including SEM, SEO, Social, and Display.
  • Direct Mail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strategic thinker. Experience developing and executing your own strategy and learning agenda using historical insights, internal/external data, and marketing intuition.
  • A good enough understanding of statistics to design and analyze multi-variate tests that drive statistically significant insights. Ability to build logistic regression models and/or decision trees is a plus.
  • High level of comfort with data. Experience with multiple analytical platforms (Google Analytics, BrightEdge, etc.) is a plus, but the key requirements are the ability to identify what data is needed for a given task, and experience working both directly (e.g., SQL, Tableau) and through the organization (e.g., leveraging other data analysts) to obtain the data supporting a strategy, story, or analysis. Experience driving actionable insights in environments where data is imperfect, partially missing, or needs to be integrated from multiple sources.
  • Experience with both B2C and B2B marketing in a technology company setting is a strong plus.
  • Experience with identifying and selecting marketing vendors, including due diligence, term negotiations, and partnering with Legal to close contracts.
  • Self-starter and independent thinker requiring minimal hand-holding to drive your own agenda.
  • Ability to engage and influence the organization, both above and below your own level.
