Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist (Zoro.com)
Location: Buffalo Grove

Working closely with the Sr. Manager of Searchandising, the role will execute merchandising optimizations across the large product assortment on Zoro.com.
Primary Function:
- Execute a variety of category optimizations that improve customer experience and product findability across Zoro.com
- Use analytics to perform pre/post analysis of metrics related to key merchandising tasks
- Help customers effectively and quickly navigate to the right product and solution on Zoro.com
- The role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Searchandising and will have no direct reports
Principal Responsibilities:
- Actively execute product optimization within prioritized L3 categories – including but not limited to product titles, attribute normalization, variant creation, product categorization
- Develop and implement business rules that reflect industry best practices, highlight sku selling points and overcome data gaps
- Perform competitive research and quickly identify best in class opportunities
- Perform SEO research and publishing across prioritized categories
- Analyze category trends and identify key website metrics for pre/post analysis
- Identify content gaps and work with merchandising managers on acquisition
- Work efficiently within prioritized categories to maximize quality tactic output
- Become a subject matter expert of merchandising tool sets utilized and continuously identify opportunities for improvements
Drives Customer Experience:
- Enhance the customer experience by improving how customers find and buy products from a prioritized set of revenue driving categories
- Drive Add to Cart Rate, Click Through Rate, Buy Rate, Revenue/Impression and other core KPI’s by improving the presentation of products across the customer’s onsite experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 yrs. experience in eCommerce merchandising
- Strong knowledge and/ or curiosity in using data to drive business decisions
- Motivated and entrepreneurial with a strong understanding of eCommerce
- Hands-on experience in digital space including ecommerce, website development or any digital products
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or Site Catalyst
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Curious mindset with a strong desire to find new ways to improve the customer experience, ask though provoking questions and challenge the status quo
- Demonstrates the Zoro Values of Transparency, Ownership, Winning and Losing Together, and Customer Obsession
Preferred but not required:
- Experience in SEM, SEO and onsite search
- Experience with SOLR, Endeca, GroupBy Searchandiser, Google Search Appliance or similar Onsite search engines
