Overview

tronc is seeking a strategic, organized and results-driven email marketing professional who will own and execute email marketing strategy across tronc properties.  The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of marketing automation platforms and CRM integrations as well as best practices in email marketing, campaign management & analytics.  S/he will partner with our category managers, research analysts, CRM, and sales teams in areas of strategy, creative, templates, A/B testing, engagement, optimization, and conversion. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with category managers and local marketing strategists on campaign strategy, design, calendars, and timing.
  • Manage email lists and campaigns including content development, list management, templates, and content. Create, test, and launch campaigns. Measure, track, optimize, and report on campaign performance.
  • Provide analyses of email campaigns and recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate on product and platform strategy to increase automation, operational efficiency, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which means there will be other things you’ll need to do that we haven’t thought of, but will generally be in line with the position.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree is typical; we’re happy to consider compelling candidates with Associates degrees
  • Experience: 3+ years of email marketing reasonably related to this role involving setting up tracking, reporting and monitoring key performance indicators. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (or Salesforce) and experience using Marketo or similar marketing automation platforms.
  • Multi-tasker: Ability to manage multiple deadline-oriented projects concurrently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytics: Superb analytical and communicationskills; unafraid of large data sets; can dig into data to create summary narrative and insights that can be shared in narrative form.
  • Understanding of marketing principles resulting in awareness, engagement, and conversion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Balance: Ability to be strategic, creative, communicative, and detail-oriented
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel & Outlook)
  • Embraces team outings with karaoke.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in B2B marketing roles
  • Proficiency in HTML coding / email production and responsive design
  • Experience using Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics and WordPress
