Simpler Media Group ("SMG") is seeking a detail-oriented team player to serve as an Events Operations Coordinator in Chicago. This paid position is full-time (40 hours per week) and remote in Chicago, IL but may require some travel and/or office days.

We are an established but small, fun, profitable and growing B2B media and events company with presence in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Boston and Paris. We create and operate leading digital media and live event brands targeted for enterprise digital professionals, including our leading online community (www.cmswire.com) and our annual conferences (www.dxsummit.com and www.dwexperience.com). These industry-leading forums serve to inspire, empower and connect our community.

The Events Operations Coordinator will assist the event management team with both marketing programs and conference operations. This position requires a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, self-accountability, independent and creative problem solving, and exceptional follow-through.

The successful candidate will be tech savvy, comfortable with juggling multiple tasks, have a passion for learning new skills, knack for copy editing, sensitivity to deadlines and the attitude of a team player.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Events.

Core Responsibilities 

Assist with events coordination. This includes conference material organization, vendor selection and vetting, logistics management and organization.
Focus: organization, efficiency, collaboration

Assist with the creation and reporting of marketing programs. This includes webinar campaign creation, email editing and QA, campaign testing, internal reporting management.
Focus: digital tools, editing and testing, reporting and data management

Assist with web content management and processes, including digital asset organization and website editing.
Focus: basic HTML, task management and urgency

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS in marketing, events or communications, or equivalent level of experience
1 year relevant professional experience
Exceptional task management skills
Experience working within a collaborative and cross-functional team environment
Strong written and spoken communications skills
An eager learner, willing and excited to learn from his/her colleagues
Basic HTML/CSS, experience with DreamWeaver a plus
Experience with Google Drive, MS Word, Spreadsheets and Powerpoint
Experience working in Wordpress or other web CMS

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Experience working with graphics programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience working with Marketo (or similar marketing automation tools)
Experience working with BaseCamp
Familiarity with SEO and/or social media marketing tools
