About the role

We are looking to hire our first Influencer & Social Media Manager, a person who loves connecting with influencers, growing online conversations and building community. This person will initiate and deepen relationships with the key influencers followed by our consumers, create dynamic new partnerships, and build out a vibrant online community. Our goals are to grow and retain our base of loyal members, increase engagement among our followers, and convert non-members into subscribers who are inspired and loyal members.

The right candidate will have a talent for driving growth by creating meaningful influencer relationships, has experience building out a social strategy grounded by solid metrics, and can create on-target content and conversations to enliven, strengthen, and grow our relationships with our community. This person must be an ambitious self-starter who is creative and collaborative, and should be inspired by a sustainable, non-toxic lifestyle—or have the ability to speak authentically about it. This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and works closely with our growth, content, and member service team. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Create meaningful connections with influencers big and small that drive subscriber growth, and keep MightyNest top of mind.
  • You’ll lead the strategic direction for all of our social media initiatives, managing our social media content calendar and developing campaigns that build engagement. 
  • Seed organic conversations and monitor and grow our community. You should be able to effortlessly shift from writing social content to guiding a creative team for larger initiatives.
  • Create and source photography, videos, and gifs that look and feel like our own, and stand out from others in the space. 
  • Be a consumer advocate. You’ll have a relentless drive to understand what people are saying about us, and you’ll keep our team up to speed on what you’re learning. 
  • Measure, monitor, and optimize our social media performance and progress against our goals.

Who You Are:


  • You have experience driving influencer relationships, leading a successful influencer program, and/or building influencer relationships.
  • You have built an engaged social community, and have at least 3-5 years experience leading a successful, large-scale social media program in a consumer-facing company or agency, and have experience both developing strategy and executing on it.
  • You are passionate about living a sustainable, non-toxic lifestyle — or have the ability to speak authentically about doing so.
  • Experience at a high growth consumer-facing startup and/or a company in the sustainability space is a plus.
  • You have demonstrated creativity and documented success across key social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.
  • Possess superior writing skills and a demonstrated ability to create content that is relatable, engaging, and relevant.
  • You have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, startup environment with little structure - and be eager to help build the structure we need to scale our social media and influencer programs.
  • You are plugged into pop culture, but it doesn’t rule the way you write.
  • Expert knowledge of social media monitoring tools and analytics platforms.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications required.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, particularly Google Sheets and/or Excel.

This position is located in Skokie, IL. Candidates may be remote or Chicago based.
