Marketing Copywriter
Customers, Product, Team. Those are Buildout’s core values. The Marketing team at Buildout plays an important role in upholding our values by promoting our brand and products to both current customers and prospects. The Marketing team takes great pride in understanding our market, the needs of our customers and how our solution can help them in their day-to-day lives. As a member of our team you will need to develop a deep understanding of our customers and market. Our software solves complex problems, so we strive for simplicity and approachability in our communication and offering.
You will be responsible for writing all the copy for our marketing campaigns, including new product and feature releases, email campaigns, webinar content and blogs. The Marketing team is small, but we are high producers and wear many hats, you should be driven and willing to jump into any project to help the team. We all work together and support each other in order to get the job done.
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent, highly creative communication and critical-thinking skills
- 1-3 years of professional experience copywriting
- At ease managing multiple projects, working individually and collaborating across teams
- Passionate about using written communication to promote our brand and help our customers
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or equivalent
PREFERRED
- Experience in a marketing copywriting role at a SaaS company or a marketing agency
- Background in commercial real estate
- Have integrity and a high degree of personal responsibility
- Demonstrate a positive, can-do, go-the-extra-mile attitude
- Appreciate and assimilate constructive criticism
- Self-starter and detail-oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Marketing Director to understand the purpose and objective of the project or written piece
- Write clear, concise content consistent with Buildout's branded voice
- Write both short-form and long-form copy, including email campaigns, digital and print advertisements, website copy, sales collateral, and blog articles
- Interview sales, product, client services, and executives to support blog articles, sales collateral, product releases, etc
- Conduct thorough, high-quality research to supplement knowledge gathered from our teams
- Develop, manage, and execute the social media strategy for Buildout (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Work with the design team to edit content based on design to best showcase the message
- Simplify complicated topics into communications anyone could understand
- Collaborate and brainstorm with Marketing team members on a variety of projects
- Edit and proofread Marketing materials
- Edit PR-related materials such as press releases and award applications
- Regularly update the In the News section of buildout.com
- Be a team player and go-to for the team
