As a Marketing Data and Analytics Team Lead, you will be responsible for owning the data governance program in marketing, which sets the standards on data integrity for our customer data, as well as guide key metrics for the department in the form of KPIs, statistical analysis, and integrated marketing campaign ROI. The Marketing Data and Analytics Team Lead works under the general direction of the senior manager, and will be responsible for directly managing 1-3 reports.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with all marketing teams to understand the systems and data points applicable to each group (e.g., events, social media, PR, web), and to advise on areas for opportunity and collaboration in ingesting and tracking data
  • Develops a strong collaboration with sales and customer success to understand and measure the full customer journey lifecycle.
  • Acts as the steward of customer data in Salesforce; evangelizes best practices across multiple departments (including IT, customer success, and sales); consults on new processes for capturing, organizing, and utilizing customer data in Salesforce
  • Manages the vendor relationship for verifying and updating key customer contact and segmentation data, including communications, budgeting, and allocation of resources
  • Guides the team on marketing campaign tracking, including sources across multiple channels like web, social, email, live events, webinars, and online communities. Advises on goal setting for campaigns, works with other teams to help them define success metrics, and drives toward achieving actionable learning points from the campaign data
  • Manages a team of data governance specialists and/or analysts (may be full time or contract), including delegation of work and reviewing deliverables for accuracy to maintain high quality standards
  • Participates in management initiatives and process, such as project planning, team feedback and coaching, performance reviews, and weekly one-on-ones
  • Works with senior managers to drive the team’s vision and set long-term goals for the data and analytics discipline; has an active voice in evolving data practices organization-wide

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing, analytics, operations, or data governance role
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in managing direct reports or operating in a leadership role
  • Advanced in data segmentation and reporting within Salesforce and marketing automation software
  • Advanced in problem solving and project management
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to provide actionable insights from data, and is enthusiastic about teaching this to others
  • Solid understanding of the customer journey lifecycle
  • Experience with data visualization tools; Tableau is a plus
  • Self-starter and history of pushing for deadline-driven results and prioritizing task backlogs
  • Ability to guide projects that have multiple stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excels at cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Strong interest in managing a team and providing career coaching, feedback, and day-to-day guidance
