Describe the role in three or less sentences. What does the role do, how does it impact the organization?

Relativity Trace is Relativity’s first new product outside of e-discovery. Every business is at risk for bad behavior, and Trace helps organizations protect themselves and their clients by monitoring all communications in near-real time, alerting compliance officers to suspicious content. It shines the light on suspicious activity within organizations, to help you detect problems before they escalate.

Relativity as a platform has nearly 200,000 users and more than 100B files under management. We believe Trace is our next big opportunity to expand this community and discover the truth in companies’ data.

As the Manager of marketing for Trace, you will be responsible for working closely with the Trace team to build a long-term marketing strategy for the product, annual go-to-market approaches, and a high-performing team that can easily learn and adapt as we invest more and more into Trace. You’ll also be responsible for positioning Trace, executing campaigns, storytelling, enabling the Trace sales team, and knowing Trace customers deeply to act as their voice internally and externally.

Role Responsibilities

  •  Build a marketing strategy for a new product, and refine and adapt that strategy regularly to ensure it’s targeting the right buyers and focused on the right messages.

  • Lead the efforts to mature a fledgling product in the market, including enabling internal teams, building a brand, and engaging with customers to understand their needs and how they perceive Trace.
  • Be able and willing to get into the weeds to support the creation and execution of marketing activities.
  • Create a demand gen engine and model for Trace, working closely with sales and marketing to experiment with new marketing channels, optimize our Trace funnel, and potentially kick off account-based marketing campaigns based on need.
  • Work with sales on seller enablement materials related to Trace.
  • Work with portfolio marketing on any pricing updates to Trace, as well as ensuring all Trace campaigns and messages align with the work of our product and segment marketing teams, particularly in tandem with our corporate segment marketing team.
  • Work with partner marketing to ensure Trace partners are successful with talking about and selling Trace widely.
  • Manage a small team of marketers focused exclusively on Trace, while collaborating effectively with a much larger team of marketers providing resources for all aspects of Relativity, including getting plugged into broader brand activities like PR, AR, and content marketing.
  • Build processes and frameworks for a new marketing team—as well as reporting on results—while remaining agile to quickly changing market dynamics.
  • Represent Trace across all key segments in customer meetings, industry conferences, and other events that target key buyer personas in compliance.
  • Assist Trace’s product managers in creating a roadmap that drives commercial success.
  • Provide nsight into Trace’s performance in the market via marketing vitals and other presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Keep up with current industry trends and topics, as well as maintain a sophisticated understanding of our product to provide appropriate insight and guidance to the team, and to ensure effective marketing materials.

Preferred qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in a strategic consulting or marketing role
  • Experience launching new products and building holistic marketing plansProven understanding of the compliance or financial market and/or involvement in a related role
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • High-level technical acumen; must be able to understand and effectively communicate complex, technical ideas
  • Proven history of initiative, creativity, and self-motivation
  • Strong collaboration skills across interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to roll your sleeves up and execute on deliverables with a lean team
  • Superb organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and Outlook
  • Expertise with Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work with and maintain relationships across an organization, particularly with sales, customer success, HR, and product teams
