Job Summary
Responsible for working with business units to direct the development and execution of marketing plans for CNA's individual lines of business/products that integrate the CNA brand across marketing communication vehicles, strengthen the partnership with our brokers, and enable CNA's field offices to meet their production goals. Focuses on strategic business-building marketing projects and aligning resources to get them accomplished. Plans marketing activities to meet company targets for growth and profitability.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Provides strategic and tactical direction for CNA marketing initiatives and campaigns, including oversight of the management, implementation and coordination of marketing communication vehicles, including market-specific collateral and other sales tools. Initiates quarterly area reviews to monitor progress, report out on results and recalibrate marketing plans and resources as needed.
- Works with the MSI team, BUs and branch leadership on the development of strategies that identify local, branch-level marketing opportunities to promote the CNA brand and advance corporate marketing strategy. Uses assigned regions as test markets for campaigns to implement key learnings across other regions.
- Enables marketing communications team, digital marketing and creative in the delivery of marketing plans by facilitating a collaborative work environment and the identification and elevation of issues and opportunities to department leadership.
- Leads and directs the work activities and has full management responsibility for the performance and development of marketing coordinator in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
- Fosters strategic alignment with MSI team to ensure marketing programs continue to provide on-going value to attain production and profitability goals and enable opportunistic growth.
- Assists leadership in development of enterprise-wide marketing strategy. Aligns resources to accomplish goals.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop marketing staff.
2. Thorough knowledge of marketing management strategy and tactics as well as knowledge of company, department and insurance industry procedures and practices.
3. Proven ability to develop messaging that furthers CNA's brand, strengthens distributor relationships and positively positions CNA in the marketplace.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
5. Detail oriented with good analytical skills, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite as well as other business-related software such as Salesforce and Marketo (or equivalent marketing automation programs).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, or equivalent.
- Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience.
- Preferred knowledge of the insurance industry, its products and services.
- Must be able to travel occasionally including evenings and weekends (less than 10%).
