THE OPPORTUNITY: 

*Open to candidates that reside in the Chicago, Illinois and Ann Arbor, Michigan areas*

VelocityEHS is seeking a Video Project Manager for its Marketing Communications Department to help facilitate the pre- and post-production of compelling video content that reflects and serves its strategic goals, messaging and that adheres to prescribed specifications and VelocityEHS brand guidelines. The candidate should have an excellent understanding of the video production process, including ideating, writing, producing, creating, editing and publishing activities, and have the ability to oversee a logistical process that delivers video content on a quick pace. This role reports to the Marketing Director, but will coordinate activities for the Marketing Communications Department as a whole. They will work with stakeholders in and out of the department, in particular, the VelocityEHS in-house Media team, which is responsible for actual video creation/production.

This is a fast-paced creative role, requiring creativity, excellent project management and communication skills, great attention to detail, and a positive, collaborative, can-do attitude. Not strictly a project management position, the best candidates will bring strong writing and script development skills to the role. Experience producing and stage-managing live video webinars and conferences also welcome. As a member of the VelocityEHS Marketing Communications Department, the Marketing Manager for Video Projects will be expected to help deliver a diverse range of high-quality marketing video content in a timely fashion.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the ultimate internal advocate for marketing department video projects
  • Overseeing video pre-production planning and assisting with on-site production activities as assigned
  •  Gathering resources and identifying b-roll clips for use by Media Team
  •  Securing participation of relevant stakeholders and coordinating schedules
  •  Acting as primary owner for range of marketing videos, including script development
  •  Managing intake and scoping of projects for other marketing department members
  •  Participating in brainstorming/ideation exercises
  •  Creating and maintaining video delivery schedules
  •  Tracking tasks and deliverables for projects and keeping department stakeholders informed of progress
  •  Working with the production teams to ensure that all deliverables created on-time and on-brief
  •  Providing Production Team with feedback, edits and guidance whenever necessary
  •  Ensuring that content or strategy issues are escalated and resolved quickly and effectively
  •  Obtaining sign-offs on scripts and video drafts from relevant stakeholders in timely fashion
  •  Serving as the Marketing Team gatekeeper for all production deliverables
  •  Attending weekly, bi-weekly or monthly team check-ins
  •  Exceptional product knowledge and deep understanding of our production processes
  •  Publishing videos to appropriate channels (e.g. websites, social media) in timely manner
  •  Monitoring video deployment on public channels and ensuring continued relevancy
  •  Reporting on success of video projects and performance of videos
  •  Coordinating live-streaming events
  •  Assisting with scheduling and pre- and post-production for photo shoots

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing & communications, journalism or similar
  • 5+ years of related professional experience in video project management, digital marketing, and/or video production
  •  Superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills, including interviewing
  •  Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly make quality decisions
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  •  Experience publishing videos to websites, a wide range of social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter,
  • ouTube, Instagram)
  •  Willingness to travel to shoots
  •  Ability to quickly adopt and develop proficiency with a variety of software tools and applications
  •  Ability to take the initiative and develop innovative solutions to emerging challenges
  •  Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Excellent presentation, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  •  Ability to build trust and work with people of diverse backgrounds and levels of experience across departments
  •  Calm under pressure, and ability to take accountability for outcomes and performance
  •  Data-driven and results oriented
  •  Must provide a portfolio that demonstrates skills and experience developing video projects
  •  Self-starter with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to push projects through to completion
  • Innovative, able to bring new ideas to the table and offer creative storytelling for to complex ideas
  • Adept at creating and maintaining the overall consistency of brand elements in connection with brand creative and content libraries
  •  Stress tolerant with ability to cope with change and ambiguity and to be successful in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with video editing software platforms like Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience with web conferencing software and applications (e.g. GotoWebinar, WebEx, Zoom)
  •  Familiarity (experience) with EHS software
  •  Experience in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment
  •  Project Management certification
