JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a rapidly expanding education technology startup that is looking for a Marketing Manager to spread the word about our groundbreaking feedback model to K-12 schools across the country. You will play a critical role in delivering upon our promise of highly effective, personalized feedback for millions of students. You've got an eye for design, an uncanny ability to communicate, engage, and inspire across mediums, and a passion for education. If this is you, we'd love for you to join our team.

COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Graide Network is an award-winning education technology company that connects K-12 teachers with qualified, on-demand teaching assistants to grade and provide feedback on student work online. “Graiders” provide personalized, actionable, and timely feedback to students and teachers. Their support unlocks the tremendous power of feedback to improve learning for students and puts data at educators’ fingertips like never before.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will be responsible for owning and executing our critical marketing functions, building credibility and awareness within our target market, and developing content to assist educators in their journey of partnering with The Graide Network. As the first full-time marketing hire in a fast-growing start-up, you’re stepping into an important role. Here are some key activities you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the sales team. You’ll work closely with our sales team to understand educator needs and our sales objectives in order to craft effective marketing campaigns to power lead generation, lead nurturing, and brand awareness.
  • Drive content marketing. From setting goals to SEO, you’ll be in charge of our editorial calendar, writing content and implementing distribution strategies to drive traffic where it counts.
  • Run social media ads. You’ll design, test, and measure ads for our target audiences on Facebook and other social channels.
  • Design. You’ll make all the things pretty - our website, email marketing campaigns, direct mail, case studies, sales collateral, and even the occasional print ad.  Your goal is to refine and align our brand voice and style across all sales and marketing mediums, creating designs that inspire and reinforce our voice and offering.
  • Public relations. Write press releases, bylined articles, pitches, talking points; develop and maintain media lists; secure and manage media opportunities with education trade media.
  • Measure success. Prepare analytics reports using tools like Google Analytics, Squarespace Analytics, MailChimp, and Outreach.io to monitor effectiveness and make course corrections.
  • Bring it all together. As the first dedicated marketer on our team, you’ll be responsible for executing a coordinated and integrated marketing effort across all channels, ensuring our marketing strategies are working together to drive growth and help hit our ambitious sales goals.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in an education-related organization. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is:

  • A strong written communicator. You’ll be writing a lot in this role, so strong writing skills are a must.
  • Analytical. Comfortable with data, can design tests that will capture the right data to determine success and analyze data to make better decisions for our marketing programs.
  • Adaptable. You thrive in a multitasking environment and can adjust priorities on the fly.
  • Excited about feedback. You are eager to learn, adapt and perfect your work; you seek out help and put it to good use. You will be educating the country about the feedback problem and helping schools deliver more effective feedback to students.
  • Driven. No one needs to push you to excel; it’s just who you are. We’re a small but ambitious team. We are looking for people who can run independently with projects.
  • Happy to be a part of a team. Culture is everything to us. You’ll fit well with our supportive, mission-driven culture. You enjoy collaborating with others and will be working closely with Sales, Operations, Partner Success, and Engineering teams as well as our Graiders, teachers, and school partners.
