The Role:
The Workplace group is seeking an enthusiastic, results-driven marketing manager to support our live and digital event initiatives, contribute to our overall marketing efforts, and support the marketing team in developing and implementing digital, product-based, and client-based marketing strategies. As the primary person overseeing events, you will be responsible for driving awareness of our retirement products and thought leadership through events and webinars, collaborating with cross-functional teams to complete tasks, and creating unforgettable experiences for our clients and prospective clients. You should expect to spend about 65% of your time on events and the 35% on more traditional marketing projects. This position is based in our Chicago office and will report to the head of workplace marketing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage logistics and deliverables for third-party conferences, client events, and corporate conferences 
  • Integrate the latest marketing technology into event processes from registration to onsite experiences 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, research, product, design, compliance) to develop session descriptions, speaking proposals, and compelling presentation content
  • Develop multi-channel marketing strategies promoting booth location, speaking opportunities, product/feature launches, research updates, and webinars
  • Gather and track ROI, engagement analytics, and internal feedback to consistently assess and implement opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain detailed event plans and timelines ensuring seamless execution  
  • Lead event invoicing and vendor reconciliation, managing against a budget and providing reports to senior marketing and leadership teams
  • Proactively develop long-term external and internal strategic partnerships to reach new audiences through live and digital channels
  • Identify and research prospective events that align with the Workplace business strategy
  • Attend off-site meetings and events, as needed
  • Contribute to product launches and the development of sales-enablement materials
  • Assist the marketing team in approving, editing and reviewing marketing requests from sales and leadership team
  • Develop original content for various marketing initiatives
  • Partner with/collaborate across marketing, product, sales, support to develop and execute successful multi-channel marketing campaigns  
  • Work with digital marketing team to help drive qualified leads and expand our footprint in an evolving market
  • Continuously learn and develop deep subject matter expertise of our solutions, industry trends, prospect profiles, and marketing best practices  

 

Requirements:

  • Complete understanding and application of trade show and event planning principles
  • 2-3 years of experience in trade show coordination, event marketing, field marketing, or event planning and management
  • Superb project and time management skills; ability to coordinate and oversee multiple projects at one time
  • Superb writing and editing skills
  • Experience working with and coordinating with third-party vendors
  • Experience with enterprise marketing tools such as Eloqua, On24, and Cvent
  • Experience with project management software (JIRA), reporting tools, and CRM tools (Salesforce) a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in B2B marketing
  • Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented with ability to work independently and with a team
  • Technology and finance industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required

I work on the Data collections team, currently most of this involves, on a high level, automating the process currently used to collect data from raw sources through Machine Learning.
