Marketing Technology Manager II
The Marketing Technology Manager bridges internal stakeholders and external platform providers to build, manage, and continually evolve the technology stack responsible executing and optimizing marketing campaigns and audience management. The role requires knowledge and experience stitching multiple data sources (1st Party Data, DMP, Google Analytics, 3rd party data onboarding, etc) together, and solution architecting how the data structure results in positive business outcomes. The Marketing Technology Lead will need to be at the cutting edge of media technologies and digital marketing to leverage new capabilities and technology enablers fueling online marketing capabilities, targeting, and marketing. This position works alongside analysts, marketers, developers and data partners to ensure the success and continuous optimization of our marketing and advertising programs. The successful candidate will have a strong combination of data knowledge, technical skills and experience with marketing technology tools and processes.
The individual will be responsible for the set up and daily maintenance of all campaign tagging and retargeting, digital multi-touch attribution, segment and targeting set up. They will interact closely with all digital marketing channel owners as the digital marketing stack will be integrated across all online marketing and sales efforts and initiatives. This person will be the primary point of contact with eCommerce vendors and partners supporting the online marketing technology stack including the Salesforce DMP, C3 multi-touch Attribution, Google tag manager, etc. Strong agency/partner management skills are a must to keep core partners aligned with eCommerce business goals and initiatives. Additionally, this individual will need to be motivated to bring new solutions to the table to stay abreast of digital technology advancements keeping eCommerce relevant and above average with its technology set up and online strategy

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role
- Develop, implement, and manage marketing technology strategy in partnership with eCommerce leadership and 3rd party vendors
- Act as subject matter expert and advocate best practices around analytics tagging and implementation, web and marketing channel measurement, conversion optimization, and A/B testing
- Work directly with eCommerce Marketing team members on the Paid Search, Display, Paid Social, Paid Mobile, Affiliate and email marketing platforms to understand channel needs relating to marketing data and technology
- Stitch together multiple disparate data bases and architecting data flow from one source to another, and managing match rates across the multiple systems
- Undertake tag architecture analysis on a regular basis and perform ongoing tag management & governance, trouble-shooting issues as they arise; create and maintain tagging documentation
- Analyze performance of digital assets, platforms & advertising campaigns and work with Acquisition & Loyalty Teams to product weekly, period and quarterly dashboards and reports
- Create and maintain customer journey analyses for website user experience, providing insight on where value is lost or gained within the digital store and recommendations to improve
- Works with digital marketing channel owners to defines and execute optimal approach of segmentation and targeting across eCommerce, digital media
The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis or engineering and 3+ years of experience in marketing analytics/technology in the ad technology sphere
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics and Adwords
- Proven track record of success with managing Google Analytics tagging and configuring Google Tag Manager including but not limited to strong understanding of: data layers, tagging, variables, custom metric set up
- Knowledge of DMP mandatory, Krux a bonus
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and/or e-commerce
- Significant knowledge of and experience with web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics); experience working with granular web clickstream data
- Familiarity with web development and programming or scripting languages (e.g. python, shell scripting)
- Working knowledge of front-end coding and performance best practices (HTML & Javascript)
- Knowledge of online advertising platforms (e.g. Google AdWords, DoubleClick) and processes, and familiarity with tag management tools (Google Tag Manager or Ensighten)
- C.S. degree or equivalent experience
