Job Title:                     Media Analyst

Department:               Media

Reports to:                  Media Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Media Analyst is responsible for developing strategy, activating and analyzing the deployment of client programs across the current major channels of communications.  This individual will be expected to have mastery of one of the identified Connection areas and manage the remaining functions to ensure the execution of plans through internal and/or external resources. 

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

Analytics

Expert knowledge in the development (set-up), deployment and use of digital media analytics via Google or other platforms.

  • Work with digital creative team, analyze and apply metrics to the deployment of digital advertising and programs
  • Develop and present user activity and interaction data to study:
    • Display ad effectiveness and placement
    • SEO/SEM ad effectiveness and placement
    • Content and design flow successes, failures or opportunities
  • In-depth understanding of all possible tactical executions including but not limited to – Display, SEO/SEM, Video, Native Advertising
  • Experience with the placement of digital advertising directly or through networks
  • Experience in and understanding of extending and optimizing media placement through retargeting or other network developed models
  • Recommend optimizations for both a site/placement and creative rotation perspective after reviewing the campaign results to Media Manager and Director
  • Measure media performance to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met
  • Experience with developing programs and negotiating with key digital media partners (GOOG (YT), FB, TWTR and trade specific partners)

Traditional Media

Working knowledge and experience with trade media including:

  • Competitive analysis of segment spending and strategies
  • Analysis of partner offering
  • Development and assessment of KPI’s as applicable (Advanced consumer media a plus)

Digital Media

Mastery of the core skills of digital media placement including:

  • In-depth understanding of all possible tactical executions including but not limited to – Display, SEO/SEM, Video, Native Advertising
  • Experience with the placement of digital advertising directly or through networks
  • Experience in and understanding of extending and optimizing media placement through retargeting or other network developed models
  • Experience with developing programs and negotiating with key digital media partners (GOOG (YT), FB, TWTR and trade specific partners)

Social Media

Expert knowledge of strategic opportunities and execution in the social media space.  Thorough understanding of how each potential strategy is activated to create an ongoing conversation and community development with client customers.

  • Working knowledge of promotional platforms available in social media space
  • Experience with creating and/or managing social media listening and monitoring and updating social media programming, creative development and marketing plans with account team

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years with Web Analytics software (ideally Google Analytics and AdWords)
  • 2+ years Web Optimization
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate the data into digestible points
  • Highly motivated with a strong record of project or process management; deadline and results-driven
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently with direction and as part of a larger team
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to thoroughly analyze and interpret data 
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner 
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable management information 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks 
  • Ability to manage very large projects independently
