Pie for Providers (formerly Provide) uses technology to help child care providers build stronger businesses. We offer a digital assistant that helps providers navigate government programs so they can increase their revenue and spend less time on administrative work. Through simple tools like a case management dashboard and interactive checklists, we are creating the conditions for a better child care economy. We envision a future in which providers have stable careers and low-income families have better access to care.

 

Position Description:

We’re seeking a part-time Product Marketing Associate.  We’re looking for passionate, talented people who want to get on-the-ground experience launching a new social venture. The ideal candidate is excited to dive into a fast-paced startup and tackle diverse and changing challenges. This position is available on a part time consulting basis or as an internship for graduate students or undergraduates in the second half of their program. At Pie for Providers, you’ll have the opportunity to do:
 

  • In-person customer interviews. You will execute human centered-design research that will drive Pie for Providers’ product roadmap and business strategy. This is also a chance to get to know the city of Chicago and its diverse neighborhoods and people.Your responsibilities will include developing interview guides, reaching out to child care providers in the Chicago area, scheduling interviews, traveling throughout Chicago and suburbs for in person interviews, recording and transcribing all interviews, and synthesizing results for the CEO and COO.

  • General marketing support. Manage digital marketing strategy, including SEO optimization and generating blog content. Support the CEO in development and maintenance of partnerships. Create and launch our brand ambassador program.

  • Policy research. Develop an understanding of the specific challenges and pain points our customers face. Integrate relevant policy  information into interview guides.

  • Other projects and tasks as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Available to work from 1871 (Merchandise Mart) at least one afternoon per week.

  • Comfort and commitment to traveling throughout Chicago area for interviews. Drivers license and access to a car strongly preferred.

  • Preferred start date March 5. Commitment through May; potential to extend through Summer 2018 and to evolve into a full-time position.

  • Able to commit 15-20 hours per week

  • Personable, professional, and comfortable communicating over the phone and in person.

  • Organized and detail-oriented.

  • Strong research skills.

  • Ability to think on your feet.
