The Role 

As a Retail Marketing Manager you will execute strategic marketing plans and programs that drive traffic which supports revenue objectives for our high growth retail dispensaries. This role will be a key contributor to the tactical plans to drive traffic and acquire/retain customers. A successful Retail Marketing Manager is a critical conduit between HQ-based programs and initiatives and the Field. The role demands excellent relationship-building, collaboration, and resourcefulness. This person is a solid marketing generalist who understands the importance of flawless and thorough tactical execution across multiple customer touchpoints and external partners. The Retail Marketing Manager is indispensable to the Regional Field Director as someone intimately aware of market dynamics (threats and opportunities) and communicating those back to the Field Marketing Director so that Retail Marketing has the necessary visibility to develop strategic and creative programming to solve market-specific business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Field Marketing Director to define the marketing strategy with specific emphasis on each store’s locally relevant customer base and competitive environment. Weekly Field/HQ check-ins and Quarterly Marketing plans.
  • Partner with Wholesale/Supply Chain/Inventory and Regional Director to coordinate and execute product and pricing promotions by Market 30 days out. Includes Menu updates and communication back to centralized management of creative assets and 3rd party listings.
  • Execute High Risers Loyalty by Market. This includes managing comms, fulfillment of milestone rewards, and customer experience.
  • Ensure that any Market-wide or National Promotion are fully executed at the store level: displays, signage, employee swag, employee education.
  • Perform regular “store checks”.
  • Establish strong relationship and communication channels with Retail Operations/Customer Service to be able to anticipate implications of ops decisions on customer experience.
  • Manage local partnerships, local events, store events, and the budgets allotted for local marketing activations. You are the face of Green Thumb at the local level.
  • Be the key stakeholder in the Retail Marketing New Store Opening checklist.
  • Assist in obtaining local regulatory compliance approvals for local marketing initiatives.
  • Be an antenna for store-specific opportunities and pain points in the customer experience.
  • Assist in monitoring and responding to Reviews in GMB, Leafly, Weedmaps, and IHJ. Circulate report to senior leaders and track to customer feedback.
  • Monitor competitive services, programs, offerings, deals; circulate report to senior leaders.
  • Attend weekly market meetings, communicate updates, and share back with Retail Marketing.
  • Be prepared to assist in the store if needed.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in a field marketing role or ‘account executive’ position – CPG or retail preferred
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or related communications field preferred
  • Strong background in brand marketing, retail activation, project management
  • Experience identifying opportunities for the offline and online integration of customer engagement initiatives
  • Experience with various digital marketing tools and platforms
  • Thoughtful leader who knows how to effectively collaborate, coordinate, support and inspire a group of individuals to consistently produce their best work
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work both independently and among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
  • Possesses a deep appreciation and insistence on flawless execution
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by the D.O.A. to receive an Agent badge
  • NOTE: This is a travel-intensive role that involves being with Regional Field Directors as needed as well as consistent appearances at every store in the Market.
