Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Demand Planner will lead the creation and management of the item forecasts at multiple levels within the hierarchy.  This role will oversee the creation and evaluation of item-level statistical forecasts and support event-based movement related to promotional activity, new product placement, and increased points of distribution to drive efficient purchasing execution and productive inventory.  The Senior Demand Planner will also manage the overall relationships between the KeHE supply chain organization, DC Operations, and the independent and regional account teams to facilitate seamless integration between customer and KeHE order management processes & systems.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and drive the demand element of the S&OP process.
  • Serve as leader of demand planning function.
  • Drive forecast unit/dollar level improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Planning to insure alignment between forecast and execution.
  • Identifies gaps between sales forecast and actual results
  • Works closely with cross functional groups including marketing, sales and operations teams to refine demand plans.
  • Weekly review of sales information to identify trends & update future orders.
  • Develop forecast utilizing history and anticipated sales trends for all seasonal SKU’s.
  • Establish and approve effective procedures to assure accurate forecasts.
  • Establish best in class metrics and monitoring systems to track progress against established goals.
  • Build excellent relationships/partnerships with all functional areas to assure group success.
  • Use advanced data mining techniques and analysis to provide timely and accurate information to Supply Chain leadership.
  • Support any other identified Supply Chain projects.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Demonstrated career progression and growth
  • BA/BS in Business, Operations or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of forecasting, demand planning, or sales analysis experience.
  • Experience in environments with a high SKU count
  • Must be self-motivating and able to set schedule to meet all deadlines
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions & make recommendations
  • Must be a strategic thinker and able to identify & read business trends
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with E3 and AS400 systems preferred.
