As the Senior Director of Push and Email, you will lead the growth and expansion of Groupon’s Push Notification and Email Strategy, improving the customer experience. This role is part of a fun, diverse and dynamic North America Marketing Team and is critical to driving incremental profit from the full scope of our push and email program - from subscribers through to incremental profit maximization. Specifically, you will be a hands-on leader to the analytics, data science, strategy and execution team. You will also be the business owner and partner to the Product and Engineering teams that support your channel. You will work with marketing teams across digital and offline channels, as well as business teams across our North American categories to ensure a seamless end to end experience. This is a high exposure, high impact role that will shape the company’s marketing efforts and drive a consistent retail strategy and approach.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • You will lead the transformation, shape and growth of Groupon’s Push Notification and Email Strategy - driving mobile app downloads, push notification and email subscribers, gross profit, and customers

  • You will collaborate and provide internal expertise on push platforms driving utilization by Brand, Vertical, Lifecycle, and Revenue Management Teams to achieve objectives

  • Build amazing Push Notification, Email, and Push Data Science and Analytics teams and a winning culture that encourages innovation, resulting in significantly improved business performance

  • Develop and lead testing programs to increase contribution of Push Channels

  • You will collaborate with product to drive roadmap aligned to vision and mapped to CLTV growth

  • Act as an inspiring leader and establish methodologies and processes around powering and enabling email for the organization

  • You will work with senior leadership to set and execute department plans against revenue and customer goals and to communicate key insights and recommendations

  • Provide Push Channel Analytics and use insights to inform customer experience, marketing strategy, product strategy, and overall revenue strategy

  • Effectively balance efficiency improvements and placing bold bets on growth

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in e-commerce and database driven marketing, email marketing and strong consumer orientation

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Economics, or Finance; Master's degree in Marketing or MBA is a plus

  • You have deep expertise in running large-scale transactional online email and push marketing channels

  • You have experience building, leading, and inspiring medium-sized teams

  • A proven track record of development and execution of creative, innovative strategies to meet both the right long term outcomes and short term results

  • You’re strong with unstructured problem solving and analysis - you’re able to manipulate complex data and move past simple insights into actionable recommendations

  • You have proven experience in conducting statistical tests for marketing optimization

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to influence a variety of audiences
