POSITION SUMMARY:

The Gift Card Senior Manager is accountable for all aspects of profitability associated with the Ulta Beauty gift card program. This individual must drive product development, business development, and ongoing operations and financial performance of the program. The objectives of the program are to drive sales, optimize the distribution mix, and deliver an excellent guest experience. This individual will be accountable for gift card marketing and execution across all sales channels (retail, digital, and third party). This position is the champion for gift card on behalf of Ulta Beauty internally and externally.  They are responsible for developing the strategic roadmap and all business development efforts including managing sales relationships with key distribution partners. Importantly, the individual must be able to work at the strategic level driving bold and innovative ideas for growth and at the tactical level analyzing data and solving operational issues.

This individual will need to work cross-functionally with multiple internal stakeholders and collaborate extensively with our internal and external partners.  Expert-level relationship management and operations skills are a must.  We are looking for an individual that can manage multiple marketing campaigns simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.   Experience in retail or gift card marketing is a plus. 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development of the gift card strategic roadmap and work cross functionally to execute product development strategies to support sales and profitability goals
  • Represent Ulta Beauty with external vendor relationships to drive third party sales and optimize marketing promotional opportunities
  • Plan, forecast, and drive sales growth while considering internal and external variables
  • Lead meetings with internal/external partners to support program and company initiatives including technical enhancements, store execution, product innovation, key holidays, and operational excellence
  • Manage significant program budget in conjunction with internal and external partners, and proactively suggest opportunities to drive efficiencies and cost savings
  • Build and foster vendor relationships involving day to day program management as well as generating new business opportunities
  • Maintain gift card reporting, facilitate the creation of reports to assist with business strategy and analysis, identify industry trends, compile competitive gift card analysis and analyze new opportunities that generate a positive ROI
  • Maintain gift card standard operation procedures and support internal partners with gift card needs, including month-end reconciliation, bulk purchasing, guest services, loss prevention, and store inquiries
  • Manage gift card promotion campaign calendar, offer set up, quality control testing, and proofing marketing collateral
  • Partner with internal creative, production, and procurement teams to order, design, produce, and execute marketing collateral on-time and on budget
  • Provide advanced subject matter expertise on gift card and promotional marketing

 

 


Requirements

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Expert-level project/time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on-time in a fast-paced retail environment

  • Ability to partner internally and externally to build consensus and deliver results
  • Subject matter expertise in retail and gift card marketing
  • Aptitude for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to research and analyze data
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and manage day-to-day vendor relationships

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent education/and or related field
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing
  • Extensive experience managing marketing projects and campaigns (digital / print)
  • Experience in retail and/or gift card is a plus
  • In-depth analytical skills and familiarity with budgeting/forecasting and business analysis
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable with presenting to all levels of leadership
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
