We are looking for an exceptional marketing leader to drive our research innovation marketing initiatives, to increase client demand, and accelerate contribution to pipeline. As an embedded member of the research team, the initial focus for this role is ESG research, model portfolio capabilities, ratings innovation and Morningstar's data story.
With a leading voice for corporate-level, global research marketing, you will help us create visually impactful, on-brand experiences and materials that drive deeper engagement and growth opportunities across all segments and regional markets.
You will be deeply embedded within the research process, from innovation and conceptualization to positioning and go-to-market. You'll be part of a team supporting the orchestration of elegant client engagements, working to bring to life a comprehensive marketing experience that resonates with both individual and professional investors, alike. These efforts will require strong collaboration across different teams and disciplines, such as research operations, brand strategy, content marketing, business development, demand generation, and product marketing.
This role reports to the Director of Portfolio Marketing.
Marketing Strategy and Content Creation: Develop the cross-firm marketing strategy for research and data innovations, aligned to product-level marketing strategies. Formalize a marketing playbook for research and data that supports mission and corporate positioning goals and work closely with a design partner to bring key strategic concepts to life. Build elegant, highly-consumable content across all channels with a particular focus on web, infographics, video, and blogs. Measure, analyze, and report on the success of all programs with key stakeholders and identify opportunities to continuously improve our outcomes relative to goals.
Sales Enablement & Training: Tell a compelling story through the development of cross-firm marketing messages and materials to enable our sales teams. Partner with product marketing and demand generation teams on lower funnel tactics that highlight research as a differentiator. Mentor the sales team on how to generate new opportunities with our research.
Corporate Communications: Partner with the communications team to have a pulse on the public and media to anticipate opportunities for our research teams. Prepare the communications and research teams for success with foundational messaging frameworks that highlight the opportunity and value add for research and data innovations.
Project Management, Campaign Planning & Execution: Foster through-funnel collaboration across marketing teams, with a strong emphasis on driving collaboration with our social media team for established and new social channels. Build and manage cross-functional research-related launches.
- 5-7 years of industry marketing experience.
- Proven track record developing and implementing multi-channel marketing programs - familiarity with multiple social channels like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Tiktok, a plus.
- Knowledge of the financial services industries/segments, traditional and modern marketing ecosystem, industry event landscape and regulatory/legal trends.
- Must be data-driven and understand how to translate marketing metrics into opportunities for action.
- Deep appreciation for the role of creative and design in marketing effectiveness.
- Significant experience working with dynamic teams and internal stakeholder groups.
- Bachelor's degree; MBA or other advanced degree/accreditation is strongly preferred.
