So, what’s the role?

We’re looking for a creative and experienced Social Media Marketing Manager to elevate the Kin brand on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, and to explore other channels. You will report to the Director of Brand Marketing and join an already established content team to grow and engage our audience and help convert them into website visitors, leads, and loyal customers. You will be creating and scheduling content, writing copy, managing community engagement, and monitoring content and channel performance. The ideal candidate has a natural command of social media best practices and trends and understands how to leverage these for our various audiences.

A day in the life could include: 

  • Developing and executing our social media strategy across all channels,  including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, in collaboration with marketing leadership.
  • Setting, measuring, and regularly reporting on key social media KPIs, including follower growth, engagement, amplification, and leads.
  • Managing all aspects of social distribution, including scheduling content, community management, and optimizing posts for engagement.
  • Maintaining the Kin brand and reputation in profiles, headlines, copywriting, and community responses across multiple platforms.
  • Developing a social listening strategy to measure brand value, engage consumers, answer community questions, and save online customer feedback.
  • Proactively exploring the competitive landscape and identifying new social channels, platforms, trends, and tools for the company to leverage.
  • Developing relationships and engagement strategy with key industry thought leaders and influencers on social media.
  • Creating compelling, shareable content that represents the Kin brand, collaborating with the Brand team to create original design assets and copy, and developing and curating photos, unique graphics, videos and other engaging content.

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Proficiency in various social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) and social media management platforms.
  • Experience developing, executing, and reporting on social media campaigns.
  • Excellent communicator with strong verbal, written, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with community management and crisis communications.
  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects.

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other graphic design/video editing software a plus.

Located in the historic Merchandise Mart Plaza, Kin's office is located directly off the Brown and Purple line stops, overlooking the Chicago River.
