Primary Function:
Zoro is looking for a passionate, driven individual to join the high energy, hyper-growth Zoro organization as a Sr. Manager, Marketing Operations & Technology
Marketing Operations & Technology is a newly formed function at Zoro that has been put in place to help us drive improvement in the operational processes and technology that form the backbone of our marketing department. The Sr. Mgr, Marketing Operations & Technology will help us put in place the right staff and operational strategy that will enable our department to scale effectively as our business grows.
The role will be aligned under the Marketing department and will report to the Director of Marketing Operations & Technology. This position will have formal leadership responsibility for a team of 3 - 5 direct reports and will be charged with oversight over a myriad of marketing operations and MarTech related responsibilities. This position will work closely with a variety of intra-department stakeholders (e.g. Paid Search, Affiliate, Marketplace, Social teams) as well as partner groups in our Technology organization such as Data Engineering and DevSecOps.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and functional leadership for a team of 3-5 direct reports in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Own the marketing operations roadmap; effectively prioritize enhancements and new capabilities that will help our department scale effectively
- Ensure that roadmap priorities align with and support the commercial objectives of the business
- Ensure processes are standardized, documented, and adhered to ensuring repeatable, high-quality outcomes for the department
- Drive operational efficiencies, cost savings, and labor savings through continuous improvement and automation of manual work
- Ensure the uptime and reliability of the data feeds that power our advertising and marketing automation platforms
- Ensure consistent and reliable access to reporting data for marketing channel managers as your internal customer
- Administer the marketing technology budget and ensure costs are tracked correctly
- Lead implementation, communication, and training when launching or transitioning capabilities, technology, and partnerships
- Ensure marketing technology is evaluated, selected, implemented, and customized to meet the needs of the marketing department
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of supervisory/management experience; track record of success coaching and developing junior staff; demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes through guiding the work of others
- 5+ years of professional experience in Marketing / Marketing Operations / Technology roles preferably at large distribution / retail companies
- Experience with the Atlassian software suite, especially Jira and Confluence software, or other enterprise-level delivery and workflow software
- Experience with Google Marketing Platform and Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
- Candidate must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a fast-paced team environment
- Positive attitude and ability to forge strong cross-team relationships; ability to support a diverse array of stakeholders with high levels of service delivery
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Office or Gsuite)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience required. MBA preferred.
- If remote, may require travel to Chicago 1-2 times per year
