Role:

 We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable and extremely hard-working Strategic Events Manager to help us plan and execute events in the Sports Performance space. We have a strong vision for our Vital Performance event strategy and need a self-starter to join our events team to help execute the mission. This role reports into the Senior Events Manager in the Chicago office. This position will be responsible for managing the brand experience and providing onsite support at Sport and Fitness events nationwide. This position requires adaptability to overcome any sort of challenge, as we plan quickly to perform big. This position requires extensive travel and significant sports marketing experience is required.

 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Driving Vital’s entry into the sports performance events world under the Vital Performance banner.

  • Managing all event logistics including registration, contracts, onsite logistics, booth layouts, staffing, shipping, vendors, supplies, etc.

  • Working with Senior Events Manager to set individual goals and measurable objectives for each event – meeting them on a consistent basis will be a must!

  • Working with the Events Coordinator on tactical and administrative tasks

  • Collaborating in the development of event activations with the senior leadership and other relevant parties

  • Working with the internal Design Department on all creative event needs, ensuring brand standards are met and maintained at all activations

  • Managing projects with external vendors, maintaining the best possible relationship with all partners and working with those vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective execution of materials

  • Managing on-site staff on event goals, booth etiquette, and event procedures by hosting pre-event meetings and onsite coaching

  • Managing third party labor teams on the install and dismantle of displays

  • Budgeting and financial planning for all events and associated entities

  • Working with Event Operations Coordinator preparing, packing, and shipping event materials

  • Providing post-show reporting immediately following each event

  • Managing event itineraries and run of shows

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

 

Who you are:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or relevant study of coursework

  • You have 7+ years of experience in an event or trade show role in the Sports Performance space.

  • You are personally passionate about health and fitness.

  • You are a “whatever it takes” type of person who gets the job done and always with a smile on your face

  • You have excellent time management skills and know how to manage an event project; you have a strong attention to detail

  • You take on challenges with ease and professionalism, always finding the best solution when things come up (when it comes to events, they always do!)

  • You are outgoing, personable and friendly – a champion of our brand both onsite at events and in the office

  • You love to travel and enjoy spending time in new cities
