The Product Marketing Manager, Strength is responsible for leading the marketing launch of new products and the ongoing marketing of existing products for the strength portfolio. Responsibilities include developing annual product marketing plans by product line, leading and supporting global product launch plans, and developing product marketing content through careful analysis, strategic planning, and tactical implementation.
This position works closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing Communications, and other internal departments to leverage activity and facilitate program execution.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Feed research, segmentation, customer profiling, and competitive analysis into product development process
- Determine global positioning and key messages of new and existing products in the marketplace for assigned brand(s)
- Develop annual product marketing plans by product brand for implementation globally
- Aggressively work with product managers and sales leadership to identify opportunities and develop plans to increase and maximize sales of existing products globally
- Works collaboratively with marketing colleagues to execute plans
- Work with marketing communications team to define and develop fresh and relevant product marketing content to convey key product advantages and benefits
- Perform competitive marketing analysis to understand and react to competitive positioning and messaging
- Gain market knowledge by regularly communicating with sales team and customers
- Ensure consistent messaging of key product benefits and services to customers in various experiential marketing applications.
- Collect customer, competitor and industry information and knowledge through the attendance of trade shows, clinics, staff meetings, and site visits
- Direct creative team/agency to create new sales and marketing tools, including but not limited to digital sales tools, white papers, videos, and case studies
- Direct interactive team/agency to create new pages and update existing pages of the Life Fitness web site that convey key product advantages
- Direct production, distribution and communication of collateral materials and sales tools to support product launches
- Maintain a high level of communication with Marketing Communications and other internal departments to ensure the progress of product marketing activities
- Assist in maintaining department budget including invoice processing, expense tracking, A/R submission and follow up and monthly budget reconciliation
- Review and provide feedback on product-specific press releases, case studies and other relevant public relations activities
- Manage external vendors and suppliers
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in marketing or related field.
- 5-7 years marketing experience, preferably at least 5 years in a product marketing, channel marketing, or product management role.
- Experience working with creative agencies and coordinating marketing activities.
- Strong fitness market and product knowledge
- Global marketing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with marketing processes, maintaining brand standards and creative development process
- Ability to thrive in chaotic environment with many unknowns and changing objectives.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a multi-time zone environment
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
