ABOUT THE BRAND MARKETING TEAM
This team of highly motivated and innovative thinkers develops positioning, content, and programming for Basis Technologies' brand, services, and adtech product, Basis. Powered by cross-functional collaboration across the larger Marketing team and the company, members of the Brand Marketing go above and beyond by further establishing Basis as a leader in the advertising industry and uniquely positioned as a technology innovator.
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
You will skillfully plan and strategize our communications to positively impact our business, influencing perspective, pitching media coverage, managing our reputation, and future positioning our offerings. Every day you will write and gather content for internal and external purposes, with strategic messaging for unique audiences and drive action. Reporting to the SVP, Brand Marketing you will lead the company’s external communications strategy. You will be creator extraordinaire who is a seller and solutionist, a storyteller, a leader of people and thoughts, a project manager, and a trend watcher – or even better, a trendsetter! You will contribute by:
- Identifying new and enticing ways to favorably position the company’s leadership, products, services, and capabilities through owned and earned media channels
- Stewarding the brand voice to ensure Basis' personality is defined and differentiated
- Brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into stories for all types of marketing materials including bylines, keynotes, POVs, whitepapers, blog posts, emails, landing pages, sales collateral, presentation decks, digital advertising, newsletters, videos, social media and event materials
- Managing and leading both the Content Marketing and Public Relations teams
- Collaborating closely across the Marketing team as well as Product, Sales, Executive Leadership and other internal subject matter experts to tell the brand story to our customer segments
- Regularly developing and fostering relationships with media, industry analysts, and partners
- Identifying and leading internal and external custom research initiatives
- Developing and executing a quarterly and yearly content strategy that aligns with industry trends, product releases, and our own positioning
- Managing a communications calendar to ensure the team consistently meets dates and deliverables on a daily/weekly basis
- Researching and writing on a wide range of topics in the digital advertising industry
- Hunting for trends, separating gold from pyrite, developing, and amplifying a unique Basis Technologies perspective across media channels
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 12-15 years of advertising and marketing experience
- VP level responsibilities at an advertising agency, public relations agency, or ad tech company with an emphasis on corporate communications, public relations, analyst relations, and/or content marketing
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in client-facing formats, as well as fully developed business writing skills
- Experience marketing to marketers, as well as agencies
- Established media relations
- Significant management experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in client-facing formats, as well as fully developed business writing skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Proven success in change management
- Ability to operate and succeed as both an individual and as a team
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Portfolio of writing samples showing a range of work
- Willingness to travel (est. 10%)
