About the Team:

The Marketing function will reinvigorate the Illinois Lottery brand through innovative insight-led programs such as enhanced games, effective social messaging and original advertising campaigns.

Position Overview:

Within Camelot Illinois, the Media Manager, reporting to the Director of Consumer Marketing, is responsible for overseeing media strategy, planning and buying activities for the Illinois Lottery. In this role you will solely manage the media function and the media agency while being responsible for delivering efficient and effective media strategies and plans that deliver on brand goals and drive the business. In addition, you will be responsible for thought leadership to help advance our efforts to utilize data for targeting strategies, media innovation and enhancing measurement and optimization capabilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage media agency to deliver integrated media plans designed to breakthrough the clutter and resonate with today’s consumer
  • Bring critical planning and messaging insights into the media planning process and use insights to assist in the development and implementation of media efforts
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on the business to define the longer term strategy for creative delivery and media/communications planning
  • Assist in the development and tracking of KPIs to measure effectiveness of paid media efforts
  • Create processes, reports and works with internal and agency team to improve metrics
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects ensuring that business needs are being met
  • Embed a ‘test & learn’ culture around creative and media with our agencies and brand teams to ensure campaigns remain innovative, relevant and effective
  • Promote and support Camelot Illinois policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business, or related field
  • 5 or more years of working in paid media in both online (SEM experience) and offline roles either at an agency or in-house media group
  • Experience in digital media including programmatic, SEM, and acquisition
  • Positive “can-do, team-oriented” attitude matched with a level of resiliency and determination to break new ground

Preferred:

  • Ability to re-plan frequently and a passion for measuring success (ROI)
  • Proven experience in leading/influencing senior stakeholders and agency personnel, managing conflict and/or different objectives to align everyone behind one plan
  • Experience in a regulated industry
