Department/Position Description:
We're looking for bright, energetic and out-of-the-box problem solvers to join our team. We specialize in the development of web and mobile applications, information driven reporting solutions and ways to align technology solutions with business objectives. This development position exposes associates to both Web and Business Intelligence tools including web technologies, large scale databases, ETL and reporting tools. We seek to deliver beautiful, functional solutions that meet - and exceed - customers' needs. Our e-commerce platform is built in Java with a JavaScript & React Front End and PostgreSQL backend. Our IOS mobile app is being built in Full Native & Android being built in Kotlin.
A Co-op on the Operations Site Reliability Engineering Team will be working alongside experienced software engineers, operations engineers, DevOps, DBAs, Infrastructure Engineers, Network Engineers as well as other technology professionals, to ensure our applications are scalable, highly reliable and performant. As an SRE you work across the full stack as well as work with all the tools that provide visibility into our systems. You will be working with in-demand tools like DataDog, Jenkins, PagerDuty, Splunk, Artifactory, Salt, and Terraform. As an SRE, you will be playing a critical role in modern software organizations, ensuring that systems are robust, scalable, and reliable, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and system architecture
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Go, Bash, or similar
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Newrelic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
- Passion for technology and using it to solve business problems
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on reliability, automation and efficiency
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and practices
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Understanding of web software development technologies including Java, Spring, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON and JavaScript
- Understanding of JavaScript frameworks such as React JS, Vue JS, and Angular JS
- Possess an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment, and testing with some back-end knowledge
- Understanding the importance of UX/UI and building well-designed web applications based on usability
- Knowledge of web presentation architectures and hardware/software implementations
- Team player who thrives in a continually changing environment
