Position Summary
The Loan Application Specialist is an entry to mid-level position and serves as a subject matter contributor across the business domains they support. They are accountable for ensuring the day to day operations of the systems under their charge and for supporting and implementing change and configuration management, including testing and defect management relating to new product implementations, development releases, upgrades, patches, and other system maintenance as required. Application Specialists will work closely with Business resources and stakeholders, internal Technology teams, and various vendors and third-party consultants and implementers. They must understand their application's interdependencies with other applications and infrastructure both internally and outside the corporate network.
Ongoing knowledge of current and changing business and technological environments, trends and strategy is important to success. This position will also support acquisition and conversion activities related to their business domains.
Responsibilities

  • Support the enterprise change management and software development lifecycle (SDLC) process including providing testing, defect management and release management ensuring appropriate segregation of duties
  • Write and maintain system documentation, process maps, test scripts, use cases, user stories and root cause analysis
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to support and define business and technical requirements, operational processes, application strategy and project/product implementation.
  • Author complex system reports and data integration/migration templates
  • Write and utilize light-weight scripting and file formatting utilities/configurations in support of applications and customer specifications
  • Assist in the design and administration of application software configuration to meet the business process design and application requirements
  • Support complex acquisition and conversion teams to ensure acquired entities data and/or systems are accurately migrated over to the new environments
  • Support corporate compliance, regulatory and both internal and external audit examinations and reviews
  • Provide Tier 1 application level support and troubleshooting
  • Understand the interdependencies of systems and data across their business line to identify and analyze impacts as applications and systems are integrated, changed/upgraded and retired
  • Must be willing to provide support 24x7x365


Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience with an emphasis on applications implementation, testing, maintenance, configuration, and support
  • Basic understanding of data at both a functional and technical level in order to troubleshoot and identify potential issues
  • Basic understanding of how to troubleshoot application/system performance
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of hardware and systems software technologies, network infrastructure, and understands issues and details of integrating diverse technology to deliver scalable, robust, and high performance solutions.
  • Ability to analyze, learn, and apply rapidly changing technologies, and apply them as part of integrated solutions to business requirements.
  • Basic analytical problem solving skills, planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work with strict deadlines and time pressure
  • Basic experience in the following technologies or similar a plus:
    • FIS (Fidelity Information Systems) core banking & financial products & services
    • Other core banking systems such as Jack Henry or Fiserv
    • Lending Solutions including but not limited to Laser Pro, CRA Wiz, nCino, Factor Soft, and Moody's Credit Lens
    • International Services systems such as CIBAR or FX360Salesforce
    • Proficiency in one or more database system (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
    • SQL Server (SSIS, SSMS, SSRS, and SSAS) to support reporting and integration
    • Microsoft technologies (SQL, Azure, Office 365, .NET)
    • Cisco Networking
    • Application Programming Interfaces (API) and micro services technologies
    • Representational state transfer (REST) architecture
    • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • ServiceNow
    • Mulesoft middleware
    • Oracle, JAVA and Open Source technologies
    • VBScript or other scripting languages
  • Excellent attitude and positive demeanor
  • B.S, B.A. in Computer Science or Business preferred
