Associate Director/Director, Growth & Operations, Climate Solutions

In 2021, Sustainalytics committed to expanding its suite of ESG solutions by building a new business unit dedicated to innovating a climate-focused product suite that empowers financial institutions and corporates to align their investment decisions with forward-looking climate policies and to drive the broader objectives of Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2050. Our mission is to build a science-based center of excellence within Sustainalytics and Morningstar. The Climate Solutions business unit will develop research and build products and tools that enable the assessment of how companies manage their business in the face of worsening climate change and as we transition to a low-carbon economy.
POSITION PURPOSE
The senior Growth & Operations lead will be part of the leadership team of the Climate Solutions business unit and will oversee the development and execution of a talent growth strategy, as the team needs to rapidly grow and scale. The candidate will work with multiple cross-functional partners to ensure a successful recruitment rate and a smooth employee life cycle, starting from onboarding, to training and development, to employee engagement, and to retention support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of having developed and executed a successful talent growth strategy, preferably at a regional or global level, working with multiple partners and stakeholders.
The senior Growth & Operations lead will also oversee the broad operational needs of the Climate Solutions business unit, such as establishing standard operating procedures, driving implementation and continuous improvement, overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives and special projects, and ensuring productive cross-team collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES• Assist the Executive Director to identify priorities, strategically align the business unit with those priorities, and revisit them regularly to assess progress.• Drive transparency and accountability on progress and achievement of OKRs across the Climate Solutions business.• Lead strategic growth and recruitment initiatives and drive to completion.• Oversee organization design and development, ensuring that roles and responsibilities and handoffs across functions are clear as the business and organization grows.• Design standard training and onboarding plans and operational procedures to ensure new hires are successful in their initial integration.• Manage relationships internally and externally; serve as an ambassador for the Climate Solutions Business with key internal and external stakeholders and act as the bridge for smooth communication between the leadership team and leaders across Morningstar.• Build strong relationships with strategic partners and oversee their progress, noting any issues or successes.• Help coordinate business-wide operating procedures and work to improve existing processes for maximum clarity, efficiency, and success.• Ensure effective planning and preparation of the senior executive for meetings such as business reviews, offsites, and ongoing leadership meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS• Master's degree in a related discipline (business, HR, finance) or bachelor's degree with extensive relevant experience.• Previous experience in independently scoping, planning, executing and supporting long-term, cross-functional projects.• 10+ years of relevant professional experience leading strategic growth and recruitment initiatives and building high-performing teams.• Proven track record of scaling teams and experience driving operational excellence.• Experience working in a dynamic global environment.• Alignment with Sustainalytics' mission, vision, and values.
