Summary

This role plays a critical component in the implementation of the risk and compliance team within the Trust & Advisory practice of Wealth Management. The team will drive operational oversight, risk mitigation, audit remediation, strategic project management, and ongoing account and compliance monitoring in support of our business. The associate specialist will report to the Trust & Advisory Chief Operating Officer and serve in the capacity of ownership of processes and support of strategic enhancements across the practice.

Knowledge/Skills:

Is a technical expert with in-depth knowledge and experience across Wealth Management operational processes and client servicing. Is able to consult independently with and influence all levels of the organization, particularly Business Unit Control Groups, National Client Support Services, Wealth Management Risk and Auditing. Requires strong organization and project management capabilities. Has excellent communication, relationship management, and consultant skills. Shows strong judgment in the ability to formulate plans based on needs and leadership styles. Highly flexible and adaptable to change. Executes efficiently and effectively while overseeing multiple work streams.

Duties:

  • Serves as Trust & Advisory "Process Owner" - This includes all related forms and driving consistent execution across offices
  • Owns Dormant Trust Account Process - Including monitoring, communication with front-line partners, and driving exception resolution
  • Primary point of contact to own and improve exception reporting, escalation and clearing of exceptions from Regional Chief Fiduciary Officers and Senior Fiduciary Officers
  • Develop/own practice specific activity exception reporting
  • Provides support across the practice leadership on coordinated strategic deliverables - tracking each deliverable from inception to implementation and providing feedback
  • Works closely with IT and product teams on implementation of workflows, metrics, and automation efforts for the Trust & Advisory practice
  • Ownership of communication and project plans associated with Trust Servicing docket - ensuring milestones of development timelines are being met
  • Facilitates and leads audit responses that impacts the Trust & Advisory Practice
  • Serves as practice liaison for Wealth Management Business Unit Control
  • Carries out initiatives that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult and may involves multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  • Designs and proposes solutions which can best fit the business need, identifies gaps and shortcoming in solutions, and determines necessary work-around or changes to the solution
  • Role is balanced between operational execution and contribution to the strategic direction of business function activities

Qualifications:

  • Must have strong working knowledge and experience with the systems and processes within the Wealth Management business
  • An understanding of Trust Administration whether through previous experience, NT Trust School, or elsewhere
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Documented experience in project management design and execution, risk management, and audit remediation
  • Be solutions oriented - with a mindset of how to make processes more efficient and frictionless in execution
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to partner and manage relationships across multiple functional areas
  • Extremely organized and highly motivated to improve processes towards efficiency and enhancing the client experience
  • Deliver effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing partner and/or client impact
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects with moving deadlines
  • Strong decision making and analytical abilities
  • Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and key stakeholders
  • Shown success leading multiple, simultaneous projects or programs
