Your impact.
- Investigate, analyze, evaluate and help settle various medical insurance claims determining the validity of claims, verify a member’s coverage, and ensure our members are billed appropriately.
- Work on complex insurance benefits navigation and claims adjustments on behalf of our amazing members. This can include medical bill reviewing where you will be required to breakdown the bill coding to ensure the member was billed appropriately.
- Dispute any coding errors with the provider’s office or insurance company to ensure our member gets a proper bill.
- Request and submit necessary medical authorization forms to follow HIPAA requirements.
- Make outbound calls to providers and insurance companies to receive benefits information and details regarding network status, claims, and medical code breakdowns.
- Stay in constant communication with HealthJoy members through phone, email and live chat.
- Deliver joy to members with marvelous service, anticipating needs, and resolving issues.
Your experience.
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing/coding
- 3+ years experience in healthcare or medical insurance
- 2+ years claims customer service experience
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including dental and vision verbiage along with bill codes
- Basic computer understanding and ability to use Google Sheets and Docs, email and the Internet
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously within deadlines
- Critical thinker with a passion for “digging into the details”
