Narrative Science is seeking a Business Intelligence Support Specialist to join our team in Chicago. You will be an expert in Narrative Science software products, responsible for providing training and product support to our users across our diverse customer base.  In addition, you will proactively uncover additional customer needs and assist in creating and maintaining product support content for our help center. As part of the Customer Success team, you will work collaboratively with Customer Success Managers to engage users to drive product adoption and to help our customers realize value. They will also work closely with the product and marketing teams to communicate customer feedback. The right candidate will be a customer-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and an innate curiosity about how things work. Most importantly, you are comfortable working with data in a highly technical environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide product support to users of Narrative Science software products

  • Train new users on software and assist in the development of training programs

  • Build and maintain our customer Help Center

  • Serve as the product expert for Narrative Science software products

  • Work closely with our Customer Success, product, and marketing teams to drive product adoption

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1-2 years experience interfacing with clients and working with technology

  • Advanced knowledge of one or more BI tools (Tableau or Qlik certification, a plus)

  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer experiences 

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Experience working with data in formats like Excel, CSV, or JSON

  • “Roll-up-your-sleeves” entrepreneurial attitude

Location

We became a distributed workforce in March 2020 as a result of Covid-19 and will remain distributed moving forward. Our Chicago HQ still remains but we want our team to have flexibility around when and where they work.
