Optiver's Technical Operations team works closely with the Trading, Development, and Operations teams in an effort to keep a healthy balance between risk and reward in our production trading environment, while still facilitating consistent technical advancement. We firmly believe in balancing a safe, orderly production environment with profitability and sustainable growth.

The Tech Ops team drives key business initiatives and day-to-day technical operations throughout the firm while acting as a hub for centralized coordination covering a broad range of responsibilities. The team focuses on operational excellence and continuous improvement, which equips them with the ability to drive these wide-ranging initiatives forward consistently with efficiency and diligence. As a member of the Tech Ops team, you will individually drive a wide variety of projects, from the first strategy session through project completion.

What You’ll Do:

• Incident Management –Investigate technical incidents to understand and identify the root cause and proper follow-up actions. This will include tracking and analyzing daily incidents and trends as well as working with development, operations, and trading to implement short and long-term fixes.
• Change Management –Manage all technical changes taking place in the environment and gauge the level of risk associated with the daily changes.
• Project Management –Work in tandem with Trading, Development, and Operations teams to drive critical cross-team projects from initial strategy discussions through to completion.
• Technical Connectivity Management –Facilitate connectivity with various exchanges and 3rd party vendors.
• Market Data Management – Coordinate the purchase and reporting of market data. This is critical data we used to help us make decisions about how we price the financial instruments we trade.
• Operational Risk Management – Drive risk-based initiatives across the firm to understand and mitigate automated risks, operational risks, and cyber risks
• Daily Operations – Manage multiple operational tasks to facilitate trading, including administration of trading access rights and 3rd party access privileges during the on-boarding and off-boarding process.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working in a technical environment
• A high aptitude for understanding how technical applications interact with one another
• The ability to multitask and drive several technical projects simultaneously
• Strong risk awareness and the ability to identify imminent risks
• Ability to identify and resolve technical and operational inefficiencies
• Ability to work autonomously
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Attention to detail, diligence, and a high personal bar for performance expectations
• Knowledge of financial exchanges and financial instruments is preferred
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for
