Job Description

Job Summary: 

The incumbent will act as ‘Chief Client Lead’ primarily focused on retail pharmacy in Walgreens/USA, accountable for the program budget management and controlling, deployment strategy and delivery planning, including organizational readiness, and is accountable for the operation of all support and administrative functions and professional services of the Pharmacy Management System-RxMS-program.
Key responsibilities: PMO, Finance, HR, Technical release management, Dependency Management, Continuous Improvement.

Reporting to the SVP IT Transformation the incumbent will be accountable for the oversight and direction of multiple teams spread over different locations, that plan, evangelize and execute deployment and continuous improvement of the pharmacy retail product and support the operation of the product post-deployment.

Success factors in this role include leveraging substantial internal relationship management and very close collaboration with the Clients/internal customers, a deep understanding of the business operations as well as the existing IT service delivery landscape. The incumbent will be goal-driven towards fulfilling our strategic and commercial objectives, in deploying the product on-time guided by business outcomes & risk; and will be balancing the discipline of processes with the agility and capacity of our product-, user experience- and support organization talent.

The role is instrumental in operating the program in delivering our own WBA pharmacy management system and safeguarding our own WBA intellectual property in pharmacy management, which is an important part of our long-term strategy as a pharmacy led company, while assuring system availability to our customers and security/integrity of data and patient information.

Outcomes directed have a significant impact on the organization's short- and long-term results, specific customers and/or partners.

The incumbent will at all times represent the WBA ONE IT-vision and act in line with the vison of the global enterprise IT strategy. This includes working in close collaboration with other WBA IT executives and teams, including but not limited to Enterprise Architecture, Service Delivery & Infrastructure, IT Security, Governance Risk and Compliance and our own in-house Software Development organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads, owns and manages the program support functions such as Finance, HR, PMO, Reporting, Continuous Improvement and Client Deployment/Operations (which may include organizational readiness, user adoption, call center, O&M, continuous deployment & feedback)
  • Accountable for reporting and control of the programme budget timely reporting to internal program leads as well as key stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinates alignment / readiness from other functions, such as for example Infrastructure, and engages and achieves proper collaboration with partners and other functions such as IT Security, Governance Risk and Compliance, etc.
  • Ensures standardization and complete alignment within the program team and amongst its key partners the Client/internal customers and other parties, of deployment and continuous improvement and business support processes and metrics by which performance and delivery are measured.
  • Performs as an idea generator, working with others as a thought leader and subject- matter expert to help brainstorm new processes and solutions. Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Transfers knowledge and collaborates across functional lines and/or across departments. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs.  Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts. 
  • Ensures process improvement and cost reduction for supported systems. Executes operational plans that ensure all work is performed according to defined policies and procedures, quality, security and productivity standards, while allowing innovation and safeguarding creation of competitive advantage.
  • Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for projects and activities and develops master operational plans. Plans, develops and manages departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • Directs through directors and managers who mentor, coach and evaluate their responsive teams and develop employees through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Uses technology knowledge to anticipate and understand the implications of the latest technologies to communicate and evangelize them to appropriate audiences and to integrate these technologies appropriately into products and programs.
  • Working with supporting functions (e.g. finance) to establish and implement supporting networks and processes to optimize delivery of services and projects

External Basic Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience working in IT at a senior level either within the Group or previously in other organizations.
  • Experience in Service Delivery management of large scale, highly complex, retail programs.
  • Program and project management / project delivery experience in a large corporate international environment.
  • Change management experience though process engineering and leading large-scale IT change / transformation programs.
  • Stakeholder management experience in a large matrix organization
  • Fluent in English with knowledge of at least one other European language
  • At least 7 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • At least 7 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
  • At least 7 years of experience in indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members in large corporate and multinational environments.
  • Willing to travel 15% of time travelling nationally/internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in Pharmacy mgmt. or healthcare.
