Chief of Staff
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Chief of Staff reports directly to the COO and supports operations strategy and communication initiatives through analytics support, project management support, cross-functional collaboration, and department operations support. Joining operations leadership team meetings, the Chief of Staff is an active participant in crafting the team and strategy that makes Home Chef operations successful. The Chief of Staff will take on high priority ad hoc special projects to support the operations department, as well as being a key liaison with other departments within the company. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, experience in crafting impactful communications, and the ability to take on any level of work including the management of complex projects.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in operations leadership meetings, including contributing to strategic discussions, goal setting, and day to day operational problem solving
- Develop and execute the communications strategy across the operations department - understand what to communicate, when, and through what medium.
- Work to understand how the team wants to engage with updates and strategic direction of the department
- Create materials for the COO and ops leaders to support meetings, such as board meetings, town halls, and strategic discussions
- Develop cross functional relationships to support sustainable collaboration between Ops and other teams
- Take on functional special projects - including but not limited to ops recruiting support, vendor negotiations, process improvement across functions, and high priority project support for the various operations teams
- Provide data and analytics support as needed to make strategic ops decisions
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the ops organization and aid the COO as needed
Qualifications:
- Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills - able to communicate with every level of the organization from production associates to the executive team
- Demonstrated ability to craft impactful communications tailored to the relevant audience - including presentation materials, emails, and verbal communications
- Ability to work strategically across departments
- Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills, as well as close attention to detail
- Eagerness to take on any level of work, from small tasks to large-scale project management
- Background in business, consulting, or operations strongly preferredCommunications background a plus
- Completion of 4-year degree.
