The key responsibilities of the Commercial Loan Closer, Banking role include:

Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for coordinating the account administration for WM commercial banking clients. Maintains the account including recordkeeping, responds to Relationship Manager and client inquiries, produces reports and oversees transaction processing using Credit Master. Resolves all types of operational or processing issues.

Major Duties

1. Coordinates the account administration for commercial banking clients in WM utilizing Credit Master.

2. Receives service requests from clients and partners; executes daily client activity, oversees transaction processing, handles inquiry resolution, obtains appropriate documentation and ensures systems information is up to date.

3. Assists bankers with internal administration of accounts, including due diligence at the onset of a credit opportunity which includes gathering financial statements, industry research, and other credit information required to assess loan. Acts as liaison with National Credit Center at inception and throughout Credit underwriting process, creates Credit Arrangement Sheet using Credit Master.

4. Ensures accurate set up of fees and balances.

5. Coordinates with National Loan Servicing to execute daily client transaction activity and transaction processing including fees, payments and borrowing; handles inquiry resolution; obtains appropriate documentation necessary for credit underwriting, monitoring and credit file maintenance; requests and ensures systems information is up-to-date; execution of client servicing events, communicating with clients and other internal and external partner.

6. Acts as resource for the relationship servicing team for highly complex WM relationships.

7. Develops clear understanding of clients need behind service requests and communicates to service partners. Obtains appropriate information from partners and clients to facilitate service changes.

8. Monitors Banking operations and accounting activities to ensure that all necessary reports, documents, tickets, etc. are processed to facilitate client services.

9. Communicates with client and relationship Managers regularly to inform them of account set up or status, past due loans, document requests, or other information.

10. Manage and generate reports for short margin and sensitive client reports and generate reports for client collateral position where Northern is collateral agent.

11. Monitor, manage, store and generate reports for periodic and legal documentation deficiencies. Obtain documentation from Relationship Managers, deal sites and other websites where information is stored. Work with the Loan Documentation Unit to update tracking system.

12. Develops and maintains strong working knowledge of syndicated loan transactions, loan and credit agreements, financial statements and other documentation required to monitor client relationships.

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

Knowledge of banking products and services, operations and accounting systems usually acquired through related experiences is needed to administer commercial banking accounts. Knowledge of Credit Master preferred. Knowledge of internal banking functions. Analytical, problem solving, attention to detail and organizational skills required to identify and resolve account issues.

3-5 years' experience, or equivalent, in financial servicing/accounting fields with client servicing background
