COMMERCIAL MANAGER
Description
Reporting to the Dealer Digital Integration Mgr, the Commercial Manager for Dealer Digital Integration works alongside the Program Manager and is responsible for establishing a framework and a path to support awareness, commitments, implementation and value propositions. This would also include working with CAT Legal and Vendor Management to facilitate timely effective and compliant integration activities. Principally the management and engagement of vendors in support of Helios Digital Platform integration and other key CAT Digital initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for packaging the Dealer value propositions and communications that facilitate commitments and value realization progress for sponsors & stakeholders.
JOB PURPOSE:
• Work with Corporate System Owners, BEMs & Digital Product Mgrs to build out target value
propositions for Platforms, Data and Integration Initiatives.
• Responsible for building the tools and commercial framework that facilitates Dealer commitment
and onboarding to Caterpillar’s Digital Platform. Track and report Dealer value realization
progress, issues and resolution plans.
• In conjunction with Initiative Sponsors and Comms Support from PM&DS, develop Dealer
focused communications that facilitate introduction of key Dealer Digital Integration initiatives and
implementation progress updates.
• Coordinate with ERP Council Program Managers and Dealer community to secure Dealer
commitments and sequence them as targeted.
• Execute and manage legal compliance needs through Supplier Setup, MCAs, MNDAs, SOW and
3rd Party Security Assessment Processes
• In conjunction with Vendor Management establish 3rd Party agreements, dealer agreements
financial and cost analysis to support the Cat Helios (Digital Platform) pilot and general wave
deployment process.
• In conjunction with the Program Mgr define, develop tools, processes and templates for Play
Book execution of General Wave Dealer integration activities.
• Build forecast models on resources, vendor partnerships etc in support of financial projections
• Proactively engage initiative Sponsors to ensure the development of a Caterpillar / Dealer funding
model to support key Dealer Digital Integration initiative
• Proactively engage the assigned CAT Digital Legal Counsel & others as appropriate to fully and
effectively enable integration initiatives with Dealers and supporting Vendors.
• Lead and facilitate the vendor onboarding process.
• Provide input and guidance to support the development of the General Wave deployment
Playbook
Background / Experience:
Experience and ability to work with external to CAT (Dealers & Vendors) as well as other Caterpillar business units. Combined with excellent communication & engagement skills to facilitate alignment & commitment to executing prioritised initiatives. A strong commercial background with experience in the Digital / IT and Technology areas. Experience and ability to communicate with information technology organizations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
• Progressively demanding execution & leadership roles in Digital and IT functions or related
Commercial function.
• Requires general understanding of Dealer business processes and deep understanding of the
role IT / Digital plays in supporting growth and business development.
• Ability to provide strategic direction to effectively manage teams, staff, budgets, business plans,
one-year project plans and 2-5 year strategic plans
• Requires ability to work with diversified departments within larger service centers and larger
business units along with excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Professional Degree level qualifications in relevant IT & Digital and / or commercially related
areas.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
• 10+ years of progressively demanding leadership roles in Digital & IT Commercially orientated
roles.
• Deep understanding of the Dealer IT & Digital environment and the Dealer / Caterpillar integration
matrix
• Robust understanding of Dealer business processes and deep understanding of the role IT /
Digital plays in supporting growth and business development.
• Ability to work with diversified departments within larger service centers and larger business units
along with excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Masters Degree level qualifications in relevant Commercial, IT & Digital areas
