Rentalutions is a Chicago-based startup that helps make renting easy for DIY landlords and their tenants. More than 60,000 landlords and their tenants use our platform today in 14,000 zip codes across the United States.

 

As a Customer Service Representative, you’ll contribute directly to growing and maintaining our landlord and tenant user base.

 

At Rentalutions, we view Customer Support as an opportunity to engage our users to better understand their needs. This is why everyone on the team (founders, product team, marketing team) spends time engaging with customers and answering questions every month.

Your Role

 

We are looking for someone genuinely excited to help customers. You must be patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative. You will put yourself in our customers’ shoes and advocate for them when necessary.

 

Customer feedback is priceless, and you will be on the front lines of gathering this. Problem-solving also must come naturally to you. You’ll be confident when troubleshooting issues and will thoroughly investigate problems to resolve customer complaints.

 

Your goal will be ensuring excellent service standards, responding efficiently to customer inquiries and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage all channels of communication (phone, email, live chat) Thursday- Monday including the weekends

  • Proactive customer success: we have triggers set up that alert us when a user gets “stuck” going through the product

  • Reactive customer success: although our platform is designed to be self-service so that someone can use it without ever speaking with us, landlords and tenants expect to be able to reach out to us with questions - both via phone, email and live chat

  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication

  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools

  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.

  • Go the extra mile to engage customers

 

We’re a small, but growing team, and this means you’ll need to be comfortable learning new skills, wearing multiple hats and adapting to a constantly changing set of responsibilities. If you’re looking to do the same mundane things day after day, this probably won’t work out.
