Development Field Procurement Supervisor
Job Description
This position resides within McDonald’s Global Supply Chain & Sustainability organization and is responsible for supporting key growth initiatives at McDonald’s. As part of the restaurant development procurement team, this role will directly contribute to key McDonald’s growth initiatives by supporting the cost-effective implementation of our restaurant modernization and Experience of the Future (EOTF) initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include the ongoing support and evolution of procurement practices for general contractor services as well as a procure-to-pay platform for construction materials.
In the general contractor space, this role will be focused on providing best in class procurement processes to evaluate general contractor spend including should cost modeling, RFQ, negotiation strategies and an evolution of the larger category strategy. In the procure-to-pay space, the focus will also be to continue to drive best in class procurement processes including P2P process optimization and automation, expanding the scope of services and evolution of the larger category strategy. Both of these categories are primarily focused in the U.S. today, but there is potential for expansion to other markets in the future. In addition, both of these platforms are being executed by 3rd parties and this role will assist in supplier management activities related to the overall relationship with these 3rd parties.
This position requires heavy organizational skills as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in a cross-functional environment. Working closely with our internal stakeholders in McDonald’s Field Offices as well as our external stakeholders at suppliers and general contractors is critical to continue to drive the expansion of these programs. The Development Field Procurement Supervisor reports to the Development Field Procurement Manager and will support the broader Supply Chain organization on other initiatives on an ad hoc basis.
Responsibilities
·Accountable for reporting savings through broader Supply Chain organization
·Lead reporting, KPI and SLA management with our 3rd party partners
·Conduct training on procurement initiatives and processes with various groups of internal and external stakeholders on an ad hoc basis
·Proactive engagement with stakeholders to ensure strong participation in procurement programs
·Support the evolution of category strategies for field procurement
·Act as liaison between procurement and restaurant development
·Serve as escalation point for questions or issues raised by internal or external stakeholders about various procurement programs
·Work with suppliers and general contractors to communicate and follow-up on requirements and commitments
·Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in processes and procedure
·Ability to critically think and solve problems, and establish personal credibility
·Use knowledge of construction materials and how they interact with build cycles
·Engage stakeholders using strong written and verbal communication
·Strong people management skills with the ability to influence other, non-direct reports
·Apply strong documentation & reporting skills, including ability to use Excel and other quantitative analysis tools for reporting
Minimum Requirements
·Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field / equivalent experience required
·3 - 5 years’ experience in purchasing, project management or construction environment, or experience in related functions
·Construction experience is a plus
