Director, Carrier Relations
The Director of Carrier Relations is responsible for leading a team of strategic carrier managers in FourKites’ growing Chicago office. This leader will be responsible for developing the team that manages the FourKites carrier network by establishing, strengthening, and maintaining productive working relationships with key executives, project leads, and decision makers for our carrier network while also improving their performance for our mutual customers.
In this role, you will be a FourKites evangelist throughout the logistics industry, responsible for educating carrier and broker partners on the value of our product, galvanizing support and increasing investment in the partnership overall, and ensuring strong, lasting relationships.
FourKites fosters transparency in logistics, bringing together shippers, carriers, and 3PLs to bring visibility and actionable insights to our customers. Carriers and brokers are an essential aspect of that ecosystem, and FourKites is dedicated to ensuring that all parties gain benefits from participation in the FourKites platform.
Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, and scale the Carrier Relations team
- Directly and indirectly through the Carrier Relations team:
- Ensure the proactive management of key carrier accounts - expanding our network of contacts, engaging influencers and executives, educating project leaders, and driving adoption.
- Build the FourKites carrier network by strengthening our relationships and integrations with strategic carriers.
- Interact with carriers to resolve conflicts and issues with the goal of improving and maintaining positive relationships with FourKites.
- Develop, prepare, and nurture carriers for advocacy and long-term engagement.
- Work with carriers to establish critical goals and support them in designing and executing project plans.
- Design and implement carrier engagement and enablement programs – fostering the FourKites Carrier Community and ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship
- Mastery of our carriers' operations and the placement of FourKites within them.
- Advocate carrier needs/issues/priorities cross-departmentally within FourKites.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience directly managing a team responsible for engaging external parties
- 5+ years of experience working with carriers or enterprise customers in an Account Management, Procurement, Operations, Sales or Sourcing role in the Logistics Industry
- Demonstrated success in remote relationship building and network development
- Strong knowledge of the Logistics industry with an acute strategic understanding of the carrier market, and their internal systems and operations is a must
- Experience in technology and maintaining high quality integrations a plus
- Motivated self-starter who brings a high degree of ownership to their work
- Bachelor’s degree
