Description

 

The Director – Client Development is a leadership role which will require managing others as well as being a subject matter expert in sales & account development with a significant focus on coaching. Reporting to the Vice President of Client Development, this role will lead an account executive team that manages relationships with existing Syndigo clients spanning multiple US industry verticals and are responsible for renewing and growing revenues within their territories.  

The Director – Client Development will manage 6-8 quota-carrying individual contributors and will assist with client pursuits in a senior/escalatory manner. 

This role may be based in Syndigo’s office in Cleveland, Nashville, or Chicago and may require travel of 10-15%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor to a team of 6-8 salespeople
  • Monitor KPI’s of team members around proactive outreach, territory prospecting and follow-up
  • Exemplify a team-first attitude
  • Lead and teach negotiation tactics required in a full sales lifecycle
  • Drive a culture of transparency, communication, collaboration, and accountability
  • Execute on initiatives as directed by commercial team leadership
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for direct reports, including developing and managing Performance Improvement Plans where needed; provide strategic & tactical feedback to individuals to develop selling skillsets and efficacy of sales process, and evaluating team members performance for promotion
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple teams including marketing and operations
  • Train and reinforce ValueSelling methodology among team members
  • Identify and select high-potential candidates for team

 Experience required

  • Prior Sales Management experience is preferred
  • 5+ years in account management growth sales, preferably data-driven SaaS, or software solutions around product information management / digital asset management
  • Experience with subscription-based revenue sales, both renewal and growth
  • Track record as a closer, ability to understand how to navigate organizations to find the right contacts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Experience with ValueSelling methodology preferred
  • GDSN knowledge helpful
