Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, the Director of Security Operations will be a member of the Information Security Leadership team. This individual is responsible for personally leading numerous in-flight and future security initiatives to successful outcomes to secure both Paylocity and our 30,000+ customers. This position will focus on three areas: engineering & architecture, threat management, and identity & access management.
Performance Objectives
The below represents the primary responsibilities of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Owns tactical execution of information Security's strategic direction and vision
  • Mentor, partner, and develop current set of Information Security Managers that span across operations, architecture, security monitoring, and identity management functions
  • Works closely with other security managers and CISO to develop the overall InfoSec strategy
  • Manages expectations of our customers, leadership across other departments, and executive stakeholders
  • Manages expense and capital budgets for security investments
  • Develops and maintains strategic/ tactical security metrics and KPIs
  • Builds and presents credible business cases for strategic security initiatives and investments
  • Oversees RFPs and evaluations of products and services and negotiates purchases
  • Works with CISO to manage information governance activities
  • Actively participates in various information security related committees
  • Meets with clients to better inform them of Paylocity's security program and capabilities
  • Represents the company in discussions with auditors and regulators
  • Manages security vendor / supplier relationships
  • Works with HR and CISO to set standards for consistent performance and service delivery across security teams
  • Helps ensure that Information Security is fully engaged and aligned with other organizational stakeholders

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years in information security, 6+ years leading teams/programs
  • Experience at a major audit and / or advisory services firm preferred
  • Knowledge of security standards / frameworks, i.e., ISO 27001, SSAE-18, NIST, etc.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, e.g., HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, etc.
  • Program and project management skills
  • Leadership / people management skills

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $147,117 - $210,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
