Job Description
The Position:
The Director of IT Business Operations for IT Strategy and Operations is a strategic role for ServiceNow IT and will play an important role in out path to $10 Billion. This extraordinary individual will be the Chief of Staff, reporting to the VP of IT Strategy and Operations and responsible for driving all the operating rhythms for this 225 plus person organization including managing a $100M budget.
This co-pilot to the VP will partner with other business operations leader across IT to drive visibility into each other's programs and projects asks and deliverables with this organization is involved. The scope of the VP's organization are the following IT functions: IT Operations, Enterprise Architecture, PMO, IT Risk Management, Business Operations, and Now on Now team (which is how we use our own products at ServiceNow). This role is very cross-functional and high impact.
This is an exceptional opportunity to transform the way we work, digitize IT operations, and showcase how we leverage the ServiceNow platform to help the company make work, work better for you, and be a key contributor on ServiceNow's massive growth and scale.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the cadence of the VP office and priorities, with regular cadence with peers in this organization and across other IT areas along with external teams like finance, HR, product, sales, marketing, and the extended ServiceNow stakeholders
  • Support the VP in the day to day management of the organization, our employees, our stakeholders, and our customers
  • Partner with Finance on overseeing at $100M budget and work closely with procurement on contracts and proactive contract renewals
  • Collaborate with other peers in IT to ensure cross-functional alignment
  • Identify accelerators and friction points and propose initiative or activities accordingly
  • Responsible for coordinating and driving the execution of VP's staff meetings, quarterly business review meetings, working with our communications teams on both internal and external communications, and driving the closing out action items from these meetings
  • Drive results-driven quarterly business reviews across VP's leaders and ensure we are driving a high bar from everyone


Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we need someone who:

  • Has a solid understanding of how IT operates from end-to-end
  • Comfortable in holding team members accountable for achieving their goals, with excellence
  • Leads from the front, and when there is ambiguity can continue to push progress forward
  • Not only compile data from all the leaders in this organization, but synthesize the data into a meaningful deliverable that the VP can review and leverage
  • Work closely with Finance and VPs directs on department budget and actuals to maximize every dollar and ensure that how we forecast represents accurate assumptions
  • Be a trusted advisor to my directs and my peers, also can represent me when I have other conflicts
  • Good understand of how IT runs overall, how the different teams interact with each other, understand dependencies and synergies
  • Provide leadership and help establish a culture that continuously strives towards best practices and operational excellence, while having fun


Qualifications:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • Combined 15+ years of experience in the following areas: Information Technology, Operations, planning, budgeting, portfolio management, systems implementations, process design and process re-engineering, value management, communications and over IT
  • Experience working in a PMO or running projects
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (analyzing data, pivot tables, etc) and PowerPoint
  • Excellent understanding of how IT runs and its operational processes
  • Experience managing department budget and working closely with finance organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teamwork skills, and an engaging personality. A proven ability to effectively interface with a diverse range of roles at all levels.

Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
Remote
A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
