What you get to do:
Reporting to our Vice President of Operational Risk and Bank Partnerships, you will develop different strategies and process-improvement efforts across OppFi to improve risk-management, control-design and co-execution of internal/Bank processes.
- Support transformation to Resolutions team's target operating model while identifying/driving initiatives to reduce issues/complaints.
- Design, implement and oversee the issues framework across teams including reporting that is compliant with the firm wide policy while being forward thinking and high-value.
- Build/improve root cause analysis for risk issues (e.g. issues, complaints, defects, findings etc.) with compelling reporting for all organizational levels to improve overall change-management capabilities (e.g. new initiatives).
- Independently validate resolutions to ensure they adequately address root cause and evaluate where resolutions and/or corrective actions are sustainable. Oversee documentation and evidence provided to support the closure and remediation of issues.
- Establish escalation protocols associated with issues and/or reporting as needed to drive appropriate ownership, resolution and accountability.
What you will bring to the team:
- 10+ years of work experience in the area(s) of banking, compliance and risk management and process engineering.
- Relevant experience designing and operationalizing risk/compliance programs identifying, monitoring and mitigating consumer regulatory risks (e.g., SCRA, Fair Lending, UDAAP, AML/BSA, Privacy etc.) in a multi-product environment
- Experience in Financial Services sector (e.g., banking, insurance, payment), FinTech, or knowledge with digital financial products and platforms
- Experience driving transformation or change projects and ability to surface and implement opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Broad risk management experience with an understanding of the three lines of defense, approaches for evaluating control effectiveness and the ability to evaluate trends, identify root cause, and provide quick resolution.
- Understanding of essential elements of compliance management systems including direct experience in complaints management, customer-level remediation and MRA resolution
- Excellent written, verbal and team-management skills
- Ability to interact and present to all levels in an organization including C-suite stakeholders and regulators
