As part of achieving this goal, the Director of Operations and CMS Programs will drive execution in two core areas of our business including improvement and support of operational planning, reporting, and performance measurement as well as functioning as our key liaison with CMS. In this dual role, we are looking for a service-minded, subject matter expert and key resource for our market operators having accountability for quality reporting and MIPS data reporting.

Reporting directly to our COO, this person will split time across two functions, which will require the individual to demonstrate personal initiative, ownership and accountability to effectively provide operational and CMS expertise leverage for our leadership team. We are looking for a hands-on individual who will provide operations planning and reporting guidance, have extensive CMS programming knowledge, and provide seamless service to stakeholders across the business. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to inform and influence market leadership by staying up-to-date on CMS programs and establishing relationships within the CMS and CMMI communities to serve the evolving needs of our business and market operators.   

Examples of key accountabilities as the CMS Programs Manager include:

  • Managing VillageMD’s relationship with CMS for all MSSPs, Next Generation ACOs, and other value based purchasing programs such as MIPS and MACRA
  • Partnering with market operators to drive quality reporting and MIPS data reporting via the GPRO interface
  • Serving as CMS programs SME for our market operators, pushing out relevant and timely information, managing against CMS deadlines, and researching/responding to questions and issues that arise from market operators and practice teams
  • Leveraging MACRA knowledge to manage overall reporting process and support practices with MIPS reporting

You’ll also be accountable for operational planning and reporting processes and will serve as the liaison between market operations teams, finance and analytics to architect a meaningful reporting package from corporate to market levels that supports regular reviews of performance against key clinical and financial indicators.

Examples of key operational planning and reporting accountabilities include:  

  • Serving as liaison between finance, analytics and operations teams to pull together and publish regular, timely operating reports to measure financial and clinical performance
  • Ownership and project management responsibility for organization-wide strategic planning process including process enhancement, implementation and driving to completion
  • Participating in market operations reviews and maintaining visibility across market partners
  • Tracking key operating meeting takeaways and action steps and required follow-up to manage project points to completion
  • Balancing the needs of local markets and corporate stakeholders with a service mentality that continuously improves the usefulness of operational reporting
  • Developing quarterly operational reporting package for Board review and supporting market operators in preparation for market business reviews

What will make you successful here:

  • Strong knowledge of Track 1 and Next Generation ACO programs garnered from previous experience in an organization that has successfully launched a Next Generation ACO
  • A proactive approach to data gathering and the ability to articulate and overcome barriers by leveraging strong relationships to advance work
  • A track record of building meaningful relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders and the ability to manage large-scale programming from concept through fruition
  • A high tolerance for ambiguity, a service orientation, and a high level of humility for successful assimilation in our highly collaborative, entrepreneurial culture
  • You have a strong sense of personal accountability for delivering individual and team results
  • Experience performing under pressure with a keen sense of urgency, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing what you say you will do
  • You have a passion for being hands-on in problem-solving and execution
  • You demonstrate humility through your actions, relationships and communications with others

 What you bring to VillageMD:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 6 - 10 years of relevant, progressive operations experience; ideally a background that has used financial and other data to drive operational reporting and discipline
  • Strong financial and data analytics acumen; operational in nature but with strong technical knowledge of systems and concepts and can liaison between data and operations
  • Proven reporting and program development experience including past experiences building cohesive process and supporting structure in a geographically dispersed, complex business structure
  • Prior experience managing a P&L or accountability for a large-scale project, initiative or department
  • Previous experience facilitating the application and startup of a Next Generation ACO business
  • Desire to be hands-on with a track record of “rolling up your sleeves” to drive desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage and pivot between competing priorities
  • Proven experience operating successfully within ambiguity; a results-oriented professional who can make sense of chaos to continually deliver desired results
  • A flexible mindset and personality; someone who can demonstrate the ability to think outside the box and formulate creative solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, a high attention to detail, and critical problem-solving skills to garner credibility and develop strong relationships
