Then we want to talk to you about our Divisional Merchandising Manager (DMM) for our Goods channel to lead our Hardlines and Health/Beauty Categories role.

No micro-management, no second-guessing. You'll spend your time thinking creatively and strategically to find new ways to grow your business, expanding the scope and making an impact. You'll be able to make this team and category your own. You will be the one to tell us where to go.

 

You will have direct authority and responsibility for multiple verticals including to Home Improvement, Automotive, Sports, as well as Health and Beauty. You will coaching and mentoring more than 20 employees to further success.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating, completing, and leading activities and assignments for Merchandising by developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Achieving sales and margin plans through management of item and category
  • Developing short- and long-term strategies for category growth
  • Partnering with the GM in driving sales through implementing promotional and marketing activities
  • Analyzing marketplace trends to identify new businesses to enter, as well as down-trending businesses to be eliminated
  • Assisting Buyers with merchandise purchasing for medium-risk, high-volume categories by developing and planning merchandise assortments
  • Remaining up to date on competitive market positioning and projecting future market positioning in order to ensure Groupon Goods is at the forefront of new products

 

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • 7-10 years leading complex retail businesses, ideally in the Hardlines or Health/Beauty category
  • Experience leading teams and having accountability for goals, achievements, and pizzas
  • Highly motivated teammate with strong leadership skills; able to run diverse groups while independently driving a business
  • Ability to shift focus from tactical operations to long-term strategic planning
  • Lives to implement or improve processes, and flexible within an ambiguous, ever-changing work environment
